Aimless wandering isn't "adventure" or "atmosphere," it's "aimless wandering." It's boring. If you're going to make a game that's "atmospheric," put some effort into the atmosphere. An ambient hum and a blue guitar note isn't atmospheric, it's repetitive and dull. A bunch of jellies isn't atmospheric, it's a bunch of jellies. The art isn't bad. It's nothing particularly special, but nothing offensively bad, either. Better than the rest of the pixel art on the front page, at least. The big jellies look sort of neat, even if they're kind of boring.
I realize this was done in 48 hours but... It feels like you could have put the 48 hours to better use? It's just sort of bland and uninteresting overall. It could have used more effort. I mean, even for a 48 hour game, it falls kind of flat. It's not terrible for one, at all, just not good for one, either. And as a game in its own regard, it's not good.
I'm someone who's all about atmosphere, so I'm always kind of disappointed in games that bill themselves as "atmospheric" and end up just being boring! I've got no interest in this world or these characters. There's no desire or incentive to explore, and it ends up just making me want to close the tab.
