Reviews for "Drone Assault"

I got all the medals, hell yeah!

But seriously, really fun game, the hit detection is pretty much perfect and the levelling up system makes it better to play. Congrats!

VictorGrunn responds:

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

The hit detection I can't take credit for - that's the Flixel engine at work. But awesome, glad you had fun with it.

I was pretty freaking amazed at how cool this game was! I was quite disappointed when I couldn't get a higher score every time I started a new game. This is still great even though the graphics aren't that good. You certainly know how to motivate a person to complete something. The sounds were really good too. I loved how there were all sorts of different enemies to shoot at.

It was a fairly original game overall. It sounded like balloons popping whenever you hit your target. There's a nice variety of colors being used too. Oh, I thought the medals were for every new level you got to. You have to watch these rascally aircrafts!

VictorGrunn responds:

Wow, thanks. I'm glad you liked the game. Yeah, this was the first time I ever attempted to do any art for a game - I need to get much better there.

Feedback appreciated, I'll use this to make better stuff!

An overall good game, but (as with most games) it would have been better if you could choose what you upgrade

VictorGrunn responds:

Thanks. Yeah, this game was thin on depth all around (plus the first time I did art in years, which is why it's less attractive than electrikill.) But thanks for playing and the feedback all the same!

I found the game fun at first. There was the fun of blowing stuff up and of discovering the most effective way to blow everything up. Once that wore off there was nothing to keep me playing though.

The gameplay mostly consisted of chasing things around the screen with my mouse trying to hit them. There was little skill involved.

The music was nothing special. I would have liked an option to turn off the music but not the sound effects.

The statistics page is missing a "spazzes destroyed statistic". I would like to know exactly what each type of ship looks like. I can guess, but I'd like to be sure at some point.

Overall I found this game boring.

VictorGrunn responds:

Yeah, it's a pretty thin game. Thanks for playing it all the same!

Not showing which enemies are what was a major oversight on my part - I thought I included that on the instructions page, but apparently I forgot. Whoops. I'll fix that in a new version.

I think the chasing around with the mouse could itself be challenging, but I didn't provide enough of a carrot to make score matter too much. This game was originally meant to be far more depthful and complex, but in the end... it was not! Lesson learned, I'll take care of that in the future.

Thanks for the feedback!

A fair game. Not amazing, but ok.

VictorGrunn responds:

Thank you! "Fair" is pretty kind here, I think.
