Reviews for "Human Apocalypse"

what kind of zombie cant infect??! There's no point in it even being a human appocolypse if the zombie can infect -_-

Zanzlanz responds:

That's true. I didn't think of it at the time ;)

I guess the main reason I didn't like this that much was because it was so freaking hard! I still have to give you credit for having a very original idea. Perspective flips are always cool. The best part about this was probably how you had such good mobility. Dang, I didn't know us humans could multiply so fast. The graphics weren't bad, but they came off as a bit too silly.

Of course, that may have been the point. It was pretty funny to see everyone walking around when they all looked like pancakes. The music was pretty decent. Dang, does this game get hard fast! For those of you who have faster reflexes, you might wanna check this out!

Zanzlanz responds:

Haha it was my first 'shooting' game so I wasn't sure exactly how to make the difficulty.
I didn't want to make the game play too long and boring, so I made it quick and challenging. I see all of these fps games where everyone dies so quickly, haha!

Yeah the graphics weren't meant to be serious. I designed them initially to be a completely different game, based off of complete randomness. That sure changed xD But you're probably right. After the change in design should have came a change in graphics.

Thanks for your review :)

pretty good for a ludum dare game. although that is no excuse for not telling me i can shoot brick walls.

Zanzlanz responds:

I definitely did in the description :P

Likes:
-The Idea: original, but not so different.
-The Effects: the red flash when you get hurt, and the thunder's effect.
-The Random: makes the game easier or harder each time you play.

Dislikes:
-The Controls: I usually play with WASD, but Im forced to use the arrow keys. Making both options will be great
-The Simplicity: it would be okay to add some power-ups, terrain changes, etc.
-The Objetive: getting only 6 archievements makes the game so easy to beat. Also there is no counter of time so you cannot know how many score do you have until you die.
-The Gamemode: it would be great if you add more gamemodes, like 'survive certain amount of days' and add a progresive dificulty (low amount of humans and the it will be increasing)
-The Pause: you cannot pause the game. What? What if my phone rings? I have to start again?

Notes:
Why the game didn't explained to me that I can break walls by shooting at them?

Final Score: 2.5/5

Zanzlanz responds:

Thanks for your wonderful review and thoughts, it's very appreciated :)

- Just added WASD as alternative controls.
- If you get all of the achievements, I'd be surprised :) But yes, I added a counter.
- Just added pause

- As for game modes. Remember, I was to make this in under 48 hours. I had hardly any time to concentrate on a broader range of options. Now that I think about it, though, building a fort and having a more of a tower defense game mode would be nice. Something where you can have an army. I don't know yet, but adding more game modes will take a very long time. Consider it a future project, possibly.
- I did, however, add a energy boost.

- I just added more to the help :)

Well there you go. I hope you don't think it's a 5/10 game anymore :)

When I stand very close to a brick, I can't turn in that direction. It is annoying and slows down a player a lot. Not a bad game overall.
Also, if you won't run trough an infinite maze, but will clear as much place around you as possible, and run around this place, avoiding monsters, then the game becomes really easy. I have survived about 10 days on my first try using this strategy.
Nothing special, but I have got 10 minutes of fun with this.

Zanzlanz responds:

Yeah I agree with the first part. I just uploaded a new version with that fix.

That's my strategy too! (See end of description)

10 minutes is very good, I've only gotten 8. Good job!
