Reviews for "Swelter"

Not a long epic but a short peice. Not much story; It's 'end-of-the-world-hot' (Nuclear fallout? Alternate earth? Global warming?), water is scarce and seems to throw people into anarchy - making decent folk struggle. Theres a fight; and then the end of the short. So that's a pretty basic story; but not a bad one. Less is more.
I rate the art above everything else. I like the use of digital art here. The lighting effects are ambient and the attention to little details are refreshing. Sound is really good.

The missing 1.0 was just the mood of the story. It was nothing particulary new. Then again, that's fairly hard to do nowadays. If for a little elaboration on the scenario then it'd been a 5 star; was hoping for more from the story than a fight scene.

Really great; if you don't mind answering - What programs did you use to achieve this?

This was awesome, different from most animations on Newgrounds. This, is a piece of cinema.

It reminded my of Samurai Jack :D

Quite a sad outcome. The big man had what looked like a partner in his hand when he first met them. It is sad to think that the child wasn't considering that person as well. It would have been a good example to teach the child that other in a far worse situation should be given an opportunity. The father figure appeared to understand but still felt a sense of danger coming from the big man.

Now the other situation could be the big man is simply taking them from whoever he finds and the person he was carrying was the last victim. However I'd like to imagine that in this bleak world with scarce resources there would be some glimmers of humanity in this storyline.

All in all I find this creation an wonderful example of dedication. Whether this was a one time project or projected series, you have captured the attention of many. Congrats.

good father / son story

Visually stunning. Spacial awareness and movement is impeccable. If there was one thing I had to point out that bothered me, it's that the story's resolution didn't quite have an impact.
Sorry to say I can't pinpoint why; maybe I didn't feel the threat, or I didn't understand what the threat was. Either way, that's just me!
Thanks for the beautiful animation (: A pleasure to watch,
