Reviews for "ECLIPSE FORCE"

I watched this after I saw an Eclipse.

Mannnnnn....that was good! :D

Chakra-X, I am giving you an respectful review full of optimistic, constructive criticism. This movie was pretty magnificent, but it needs some improvement, and here are some pointers:

By a long way, the best parts were the dramatic screenshots of the environment/space, and the banter between the characters. Despite its inadequate acting, they did well on the development of the movie. The effects in the space scenes were actually TOO realistic in contrast with the fighting effects, which made it like different parts very inconsistent.

However, some parts leave a lot to be desired. For example, the combat turned out be the worst parts of the movie. It was melded together into a mess of transformations, power-up sequences and overly elaborate energy blasts. It's pretty unconvincing, although it appears that some of the audience likes that sort of event.

I liked the character art, though. It was apparently unique yet simple at times. It appeared to be done by keen digital art drawing, which is pretty stylish for a smooth animation effect. But, a bit of extra emotional support and encouragement would help you out.

*Overall though, this movie was pretty radical and decent! Good job!

...Waaaait a minute

This was really good; I quite enjoyed it.
The only issue I have is with the sexist jokes at the expense of the female protagonist. They weren't necessary for the overall movie, seemingly only there to demonstrate that even in this superpowered world you've created, women still arn't seen as equals and rape culture still exists.
Other than that, this was a great movie. The effects were well-done, the plot and characters were easy to pick up on, the character designs were great, and the comedy was spot on.

The good bits were mostly the animation; it was mostly clean and came off how it should. There was good usage of cutting to enhance humor (like the last sentence where she cuts off.)

The voices weren't bad, but they felt a bit dry and out of character (which is saying something for characters we've *just* met.) One instance was saying "Bitching" instead of "BItchin'", because in the context no one adds the 'g', it's just unatural. Some jokes, like the "touch your ass" one just felt tacked on IMO; rather than something more natural.

The story felt... mostly predictable and fell into all the cliches these types tend to without offering anything new and having *all* of the problems with said cliches. Maybe this is meant to be like a parody, maybe not; if it is I couldn't tell :s. I'd try to make the team's dialogue feel more natural, get away from lame sexual humor, and work on making the next story something more interesting and unique than the standard villain we're all used to.

For all of the "bad" I bring up; I generally thought it was all *at least* "OK" or better; and rated 3.5+. All of the above is nitpicking; which is really only possible once someone has decent enough skills to be worth talking about. Good job in general and I hope to see your future works improve.

Chakra-X responds:

Thanks for reviewing! The story in my film is one of the weakest points of my film, because I sinned and chose to focus more on action than the beginning story due to time constraints. My least favorite part is when Cygnus appears because he has no origin story or what have you.

Your "bitching" comment is funny because originally she DID say "bitchin". but to ME it sounded weird and unnatural! I purposely made her add the g and liked it better, interesting haha

I will disagree on the sexual humor criticism though. The live screening and new grounds responded to that humor very well and worked on the dynamic between the two character for this iteration, albeit cliche. Luckily I am a fan of the cliche and cheesy, when done right, and while not all the things I did were right, it's still a tone I think is special to Eclippe Force.
