Reviews for "Get Closer"

Easily exploited and way too sapy for me. But everything was all right so I grant you my four.

is pretty easy, i liked it till it became kinda boring :S

The opening video looked like a nipple

There are a lot of these whiny, "nice guy wins in the end" games that are appearing on Newgrounds, and I hate them with the torrid passion of a thousand burning suns. And I'll tell you why.

This is how too many people see human relationships.

1. I do stuff for girl
2. I make girl love me
3: Girl is prize I win in return for hard work/Sex is something I earn from girl

The propaganda we see that teaches this crap goes back to when we were kids helping Mario rescue peach. This story, "girl is prize at the end," is the plot to most romance movies and almost every single romantic comedy/date movie out there. It's the plot to ancient stories from the medieval era about knights and crap like that, making this tired old idea older than dirt.

Being exposed to this BS story is why so many gamers are nice guys, and why they always finish last.

Women are not prizes you can win. Women are human beings you are in a relationship with, and if your relationship with them is based on you doing things for them in a capitalist transaction and expecting a return on your investments of time and money, then you're doing it wrong. Because that's not love, that's not a relationship, that's prostitution, and it dehumanizes both of you.

We had it right when we were six year olds, guys. Remember when the way we showed girls we liked them was by stuff like throwing mud pies at them? Stuff like that still works, if it's funny. That's how my wife and I ended up together. That kind of thing started it.

Be funny. If you're not funny, be nice. But don't be a doormat. Don't do things for girls unless you're already really good friends. Don't do things to "earn" their respect. Respect yourself and don't jump through hoops for women, and women will respect you as well. Only do something for a woman if it's something that YOU want to do, and only if you don't expect a single thing in return.

Women seem, from my experience, to have a very firm conceptualization of social order. If you present yourselves to them as a friend, rather than as someone who wants to be a lover, you will be permanently a person in the "friend" category. If you present yourself as a would-be-lover, the friendship often follows, but might come with the status of boyfriend/husband/friend with benefits. Establish that you're attracted to a woman EARLY in the relationship. Like, within the first week/month. FLIRT with them.

Be honest about your intentions and respect yourself, and you'll find that most women will respond pretty well.

I'm the kind of overbearing, womanizing, asshole that many nice guys hate. I'm also a pro-sex, pro-choice male feminist. There are women I was in a relationship to be friends with and there are women I was in a relationship with because I wanted to date them. A lot of the women I wanted to date are now my friends.

But I was honest about my intentions. That really matters to women. And no amount of jumping through hoops like a trick pony is going to get you a date if she's just not interested.

And I've seen so many nice guys who are totally in love with a woman go berserk because she doesn't see her love as a prize to be won, or sex as payment for the things he did for her. That's not a relationship, that's emotional prostitution.

So nice guys better recognize the fact that the world doesn't work like this. Wise up.

TL;DR

This is sexist bullshit, and if you believe this bullshit, you're going to die unhappy and alone. It's better to be an asshole than a nice guy, because nice guys are liars. Nice guys can be nice, but they should be honest about what they want from a woman, and they shouldn't expect even a kiss on the cheek for all their effort and work. Expecting sex in return for your services is prostitution.

Rated 2.5 because while I hate this game and everything it stands for, it was perfectly executed, thematically consistent, and deserves to be on the front page because of the good work that went into it. It was a fun puzzle game, especially for something put together so quickly.

that was really cute.the music was good :)simple yet enjoyable
