Reviews for "PKMN World of Chaos Ep 7"

Quite simply, well done with this. The interactive battes are a very nice touch, and the voice acting is still very well performed, even though the cast was drastically cut since last time. Love how the story is progressing so far as well, it's a much darker take on the Pokemon series which is normally very corny and kiddy, yet it doesn't take itself too seriously. It really makes me want to crack out the Gameboy and play the games. I noticed the plug for Eastbeast's Shyguy Flash too. I've seen the beta and think you guys did very well with that too.

As for the negatives (don't worry, there ain't much) I still feel that some of the animated poses of the Pokemon during battles are a bit jumpy (Houndour for example). As for the line art you made during the credits, could I suggest you stay clear of gradients? Sometimes you can get away with them with backgrounds etc, but I just feel for characters (especially anime style) they need to be shaded manually otherwise they look out of place. Takes a little more time, but the end result looks that much better.

All in all though that's all I could find wrong with this. Well done on Daily 4th, I'm just glad there are still some good sprite flashes left out there. Good stuff. :>

I didn't do the sprites for the Pokemon in battle, so I have to take what I can get. Personally, I like the animated ones versus using a static picture, but some of them have 100+ frames of animation so it's hard to manually repair them totally.
As far as the gradients, for some reason when I converted the ending from 720 to 852 the gradients got all messed up. I thought I had fixed them, but maybe I missed some? Either way, I'm still not that great an artist so my shading may look worse then the gradients.

Excellent as always, Teejay! I discovered your series when Ep. 6 was in production, and I have to say, it's amazing! If Nintendo ever sees this, I hope they make a new Pokémon game inspired on the series (with proper copyright to you, of course). Now, about this episode, the one thing I didn't like is that the frame rate seemed to slow down drastically during battles. It's nothing too bothersome, but it just doesn't look right. Think it can be fixed?

Besides that, nice job, TJ. Just please make sure you don't get stumped doing this series at all. With the discontinuation of SMBZ, the number of series I currently watch was reduced to 2 (one of them is this, and the other is Luigi: Two Lights Hero), I've been really scared that other awesome series such as this might meet their demise. Please don't let that happen, man. If not for you, then do it for us! Peace out, dude!

teejay-number13 responds:

Not sure why the frame rate slows down on the battles. The animated background maybe? This series is inspired by my idea for a Pokemon game.
I know what you mean. I've seen a lot of great series go the way of the dinosaurs myself without getting finished. I'll try not to do that. The problem is that too many flash makers have realized that pandering well animated, one minute shorts will get them as much attention as a long, well written series. I'll check out that Two Lights Hero, I'm longing for some good series myself.

This Serie is still better than the new Pokemon Series. I wish this is a real anime, because i would buy it. I wish you much strongness and the help of a gardevoir to make much more episodes ;D

I hope the pokemon that make these clouds, if it is a pokemon, is a new one, that YOU make of you fantasy! ;)

I winced every time "Kiyurem" was mentioned, as i think it is pronounced kUrem. and i was frozen under ground for around 30 turns.

teejay-number13 responds:

No, I'm pretty sure it's pronounced "Ky-you-rem." Sorry about the underground. I can't seem to get that bug out.

I like this series, i really do but the few things that bug me is that TJ seems a little bit of a know it all and seems to almost lack any emotions, the "know it all" could be summed up to him actually doing all this before but the emotion thing just bugs me, especially in the next episode. I would have punched the b*tch if she did that to me.

Side note: I also noticed that in the ending theme thing you put at the end of each of the more recent episodes, in the last episode at the last scene or picture, were it shows the whole team together there was a seadra but not in any other of the episodes

teejay-number13 responds:

Teejay is good at self-restraint. In mainstream shows, stoic characters usually only play support roles but in this case, he's the main character.

Teejay will get a Seadra, but later. I decided to add them as he gets them to the final credits picture.
