Reviews for "_-={The Tanks Thunder}=-_"

Some one is on a mission!

This, really this is awesome. I really liked the epic feel to it. The title sums up the image that can be seen while listening to it. A bunch of M1 tanks rolling accross the desert to go complete their objective.

Or alternately ships sailing into a harbour to bomb the hell out of it. But it is definitely a wartime feel to it.

There really is no constructive criticism to give, except to keep making music.

5/5

When i look at your stuff and then listen back to mine I realise I barely have any layers and if anything the drums take up the most layers with cymbals and toms and shizzle. Ya'll got some talented people in the classical section.

MaestroRage responds:

Thank you boomsquad, i'm glad you liked the piece, it is currently my champion piece, but I plan that to change tommorow!

As for your own pieces, layers doesn't have to be everything, I may have in fact put too many layers in this piece (8 layers going off at once when the panflute kicks in), and that is not always a good thing, sometimes simplicity is key.

Thanks for the review ^^.

Yeah.

I didnt feel much rage... Actually, instead of the mentality of combatants, not the hatred or rage, but the great and mighty spirit of a warrior, one who never quits, whose end can only be on the battlefield. This one has been one of the favorites in my playlist for quite some time I just now got around to reviewing it. really good piece.

MaestroRage responds:

It seems I may have mis written the description, indeed this image seems to suit the song better, and was in fact suggested by a few others. The image I had used for this song however was quite different at the time, and as a direct consequence I wrote what it was.

Perhaps I overthought the image, or perhaps I merely did not refine the words as much as I should have. In either case I agree with you.

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you enjoyed the track ^^.

Excelent

Very nice, although I feel like its missing something. Out of curiosity, what software do you use? Its very hard to find quality samples, specially those of brasses.

MaestroRage responds:

Yes this song is missing a good climactic build up, and an appropriate ending. An ancient song, one I still hold close to my heart :')

As for the samples, this one was made largely from Edirol Orchestral, with the odd sample here and there from East West Symphonic Orchestra Gold. Now I just use East West.

I know exactly what you mean... Brass is incredibly difficult to find for some reason. The closest I came to finding some decent ones are Project SAM's Brass collection. Check it out if you'd like!

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Almost...

A great piece of work which I should have reviewed a long time ago when I first heard it. Although, if I had to suggest an instrument to add... I would have to go with a very deep drum... like the Taiko drums. An example would be "Taiko Brigade- Medal of Honor:Pacific Assault OST". The parts of the song that completely lack drums do not bring enough of the feel you'd expect hearing giant cube of armor and guns storming through the lines, bouncing and clanking off the ground with every tree, rock, and obstacle in that would stand in front of them.
Although it still portrays a coming battle very well, and, after hearing your more recent works, I'm sure I you already know a few changes you'd make anyway.

MaestroRage responds:

and i'd agree with you. There are a few things i'd like to do to this song at this point. The deep taiko drums for example, is a great idea. Some deep hammer noises might add to it. Instrumentally speaking a few things could be cleaned up, and with close to 0 equalizing that could be added on.

I haven't heard this piece, but I will definitely check it out. Thank you for the suggestion!

And thanks again for the review, whether it be a year, or 4 years delayed, it is never too late to share an opinion :). I'm glad you liked the piece!

Amazing.

The only thing that stops me from giving this piece a 10/10
is probably that it doesnt give the feeling of hatred and rage,
but instead conveys "terror" in a way.

Great work though.
5/5 and 9/10
