Reviews for "Escape From Melakka"

I agree with pirateplatypus, my biggest issue with the game was the GIANT LOGO BRAND in the corner. Other tidbits:
> The shots fired at enemies don't seem to always register collisions correctly (or maybe that was just my aim being off a whole lot)
> Not enough gameplay to actually get all the upgrades (unless you kill the endless spawning enemies at the Knight boss fight
> The last boss was almost impossible to hit a majority of the time for , due to his position and the position of the platforms
> There's a tile in a ceiling in lv7 that's inverted from what it should be

Overall, I liked this game, fairly polished, but could be so much more. I'd like to see an expanded version/sequel to this

the giant has been slain ;) it is a big dwarf now.
> the collisions of the shots, do you have performance issues? Nobody else reported this problem so far.
> upgrades: valid point, but the intention was that people who like it replay it with different upgrade settings.
> uhh my bad, need to fix that.

thanks for the good rating and extensive feedback!

It's a fun game. It'd be a damn near perfect game with one change. The sponsor logo in the bottom right hand side of the screen is too big. It interferes with game play. If the logo were relocated and re-sized I'd have rated this as a 5.

gladius2metal responds:

thanks! I just uploaded a new version (1.27) with a re-sized logo, I hope this is better! Please let me know.

4/5. I still don't know what's going on in the game, just that I don't know how I got here (the character, that is). I'd like to see more of a story line, more interaction in some fashion. Better UI would be nice. However, I do like the pixelated, Nintendo feel to the graphics.

The game play is nice, a bit easy - but that lends to the Nintendo feel again, so it works.

The 4/5 is because I would like to see more to this than what I've seen thus far. Like I said, more of a story, better interaction. Things of that nature. As it is, it's nice and I enjoy playing it, but I'd love playing it with just a little tweak or two.

gladius2metal responds:

thanks! It is my first game, since I know a lot of people who never finish their games I aimed low to avoid that mistake. Also I assumed most people would skip the story completely.
I know about the UI and you are right. I kept it that way, because it already took away a large portion of the development time - I know this sounds weird, but I have done some UIs in complete different applications and they just eat away development time.

Great Controls! Excellent old school game play ! Fun game !

thank you!
