Reviews for "Steam Pilgrim"

You could have used the mouse wheel, the numbers, Q and E, but you decided to change the weapons clicking...

Seriously die by one hit?!

Wow...just wow. I didn't really mind the lag as much, but you should set an option to lower the display settings like just make the dead bodies disappear right away so it doesn't make it laggy. And make more weapons! Or like power ups you can buy that aren't too overpowered and single use. You should also make it so you can add skill points in the main menu instead of always having to go back into the game. Oh and I liked the idea of small obstacles. I made a little wall just in case i need them to slow down. I'm not too sure what I think about the random spawn, but if you could, can you add a Custom Game feature where you choose if you have like God Mode all the time and such things like Wave Spawn system instead of Random? I know it's a lot of suggestions, but I would appreciate if you took some of them to add into this game.

An OK top-down shooter with OK guns and upgrades. I've had fun, so I can't say that I didn't enjoy it.

I didn't know what was going on with the story since there wasn't any clear story stuff in the game, but I don't look for story in these kinds of game, so that's fine I suppose.

However, like previous reviews say, the game is really laggy as you go to higher levels and when the mob starts to form. Additionally, the last boss is very hard to beat (with crazy resistance and fat load of HP). It really killed the joy out of playing this game, no pun intended.

Also, to kill the last boss, you need a rocket launcher (only weapon it doesn't have resistance against) and aim kill upgrade (preferably all maxed out in the skill tree). Freeze aim doesn't work, but it helps ward off incoming enemies who can have cheap shots. It may be very slow at first, but if you keep dodging (by going diagonally like someone below me mentioned) and shoot the boss for about 3~5 minutes, you will be able to beat it.

The music was OK, but it could have more. The achievements were standard, so that's fine too. 4/5

kind of buggy, ran a bit slow too. lag is worst during the final boss where the controls frequently spazz out for a few seconds at a time. You really need to look into optimisation

the final level is only really possible thanks to exploiting a bug. You move faster when walking diagonally. This makes no sense

despite that, a fun and addictive game ^_^
