Reviews for "Rupert's Zombie Diary"

Story-3/10 wasn't much of a story but I wont hold it against the game since it seemed more like a "mindless" shooter anyway!

Gameplay-5/10 nice simple game but there is no real challenge for experienced zombie slayers. you need runners and a faster pace but that still just makes it an average zombie slayer. the humorous comment were mildly amusing but didn't really make up for such bland game play. The grinding on levels multiple times just to get the money to fortify them got on my nerves. triple the money pick ups so we don't have to grind so much, that's not fun, the objective of any true game is fun. if someone want to spend forever shooting repetitive zombie then they can do survival mode.

audio-3/10 the quality of sound is ok but that repetitive song is kinda annoying even if it did fit in the "spooky" theme. needs something a bit more epic.

video/visuals- 5/10 they were exactly how a flash zombie game might look. nothing special and everything got it's point across.

Overall 4/10- slightly disappointing but worth a few rounds just to see if you like it.

I didnt liked this game at all. I found it frustrating.
The GOOD points :
- The humor
- General graphics
- Damage location
- Interesting repopulation system (is it really a network, with zombies traveling etc?), but feels more like a gadged, no real impact on the game itself. No impact on the player decisions nor anything.

The BAD points
- To play the same levels again and again and again and again and again to get the money to stop playing them again and again.
- Nightmare more should be a challenge, but ur forced to play it just to get more money and stop being mad playing the same levels again again again...
- Zombies follow you. Just circle and circle thats all for the strategic part.
- Always the same zombies. (1)
- You just mash your mouse from the beginning till the end. (2)
- Same music (or nearly) all the time. (3)

1 2 and 3 are not very serious problems, be they turn to be given the repetitive nature of the gameplay.

Did you actually finished your own game? Its often something i wonder if developers ask themselves. You would notice what i m talking about..

This is one of the best games I have played on NewGrounds yet!!!!

Nice Game , Reminds me of Sherlock Holmes the movie..

It was an awesome, gory, and slightly funny game- I devoted about 2 hours of my time to it. Although, I really don't understand how a supposedly secured area, with no recorded number of zombies, could actually have undead inhabitants. I entered an area I fortified thinking it either wouldn't let me into the area or send me back to the map with an instant iris-in, when it just rewarded me with an indefinite number of zombies to kill until the time ran out and I was saved by the iris-in. For that glitch, I've voted a 4.5. Aside from that, this game has become one of my favorites. Keep up the good work. :)

Torrunt responds:

That's not a glitch, it's a feature. It even mentions it when you fortify an area. It's so you can continue playing areas, for; medals, highscores, money or to advance the game day.
