Reviews for "Yotam's Dream"

Hilarious.

Croire responds:

Thanks! Yotam and Max are great!

Ha! very nice joke man, I love the old man's serious face.
Also for me it didn't lag even in high quality, but I could see the flash's v-cam...

lol funny audio and good drawing but the vcam showing took away more than it added i think =/

Amusing audio, but like the others said, it's way, way overtaxing on computers. My observations:

1. run each image, select all, and 'smooth' it once or twice. You'll reduce the vertex's by 40-50% instantly. Should solve your problem right there.

2. It looks like you used a movieclip, and blurred the background here and there. Never do that. Even if it's a bitmap, it will kill your framerate. My flash's sucked from using that technique, so please ignore any suggestion that I'm coming off high and mighty :)

I might be wrong on how you made this, but it's my observation. Hope this and other people's suggestions help out.

Croire responds:

Thank you for your response! That is exactly what i did. I had no idea that that caused lag :l I'll definitely make sure to not use blur on my bg's for my next flash

Not bad for basically an animatic, some good detailed shots and I liked the size, I think it really worked well with the style. Nice take on Yotam and Max as well.

Aside from that though, 2 things:

First, I'm guessing you used a lot of bitmaps for this by the fact that the rough-assed pixels are showing like crazy. Solution: go into your bitmaps in the library section in Flash, select "properties" for each, and check "allow smoothing". Feels fucking good man, awwwh yeah.

Second, how the hell is this lagging so bad? Seriously, what everyone else is saying is true. I very definitely have a machine built to play Flash and I'm pretty curious about what could be causing the problem. If you think you might need a hand let me know.
