Reviews for "TU - 46"

I have flown actual aircraft (although admittedly nothing Soviet and nothing this big) and it's not nearly this difficult. The aircraft acts all wrong. The center of gravity is too far aftward and the engines are too far forward, causing the aircraft to pitch up unexpectedly whenever adjusting the throttle and making it far too difficult to level out. Speaking of the throttle, I have never seen an aircraft that automatically throttles back when you aren't leaning on it like this one does.

The aircraft seems to be really sluggish. I get that this is a heavy that you're trying to model, but no aircraft is quite that sluggish in the air. In straight and level flight, a change in throttle position should result in a change in airspeed almost instantly (even on large aircraft this initial change should occur in seconds on all but the slightest changes in throttle position), with final equilibrium between thrust and drag being reached in a few minutes. This thing acts like it has an engine for an aircraft half it's size.

The way the flaps work is entirely wrong. Flaps, by increasing both the surface area and the camber of the wing do two thing for an aircraft in flight: They increase lift at the cost of also increasing drag, and they allow the aircraft to maintain a higher angle of attack on take off and landing while keeping the nose closer to level so the pilot can still see the runway.

I mean... I understand that creating an accurate flight sim was probably not your goal. That's fine, but you've managed to create the QWOP of flight sims. If any aircraft was ever as difficult as this one to fly safely, nobody... not even the Soviets... would ever let it fly, let alone engage in airline transport operations.

right on the beggining the flaps jammed and the engine stoped 2 times. WHY????

Seems a pretty cool game. Why aren't the instructions skippable? Why isn't the tutorial skippable? Even when you've already started one game?

I like this game, don't get me wrong. But, it has the same problem that TU-95 had. That problem is that you can enjoy it, but you can't ever get the planes to fly right. You need to polish that a lot. It's nice that the throttle throttles itself back, but its pointless if you have to keep the button mashed to just fly. The glide scope doesn't seem to help at all. The speed gauge needs to have a numerical value so that you can figure out the min and max speeds better. I'd like to rate this game better, but the 2 I give it is for the graphics, if the game worked well it would be a five. At this point it is just a reskinned TU-95.

Its a fun game but just one question, why can you not fly straight without losing altitude, you always have to fly at a weird angle to stay up.
