Reviews for "Dead Zed"

Reminds me a lot of the last stand, it's decent but it bores me after a while.

NEEDS LOOK INVERSION! Inverted mouse please!

not a bad game at all, truly enjoyable if a bit tough, the crosshair is difficult to use and I've had it disappear on me a couple times, but I fixed that by opening the pause menu then closing it, it also says the mp5 (I think) is supposed to have low kick but it possibly has the worst kick of the guns I've used (I've used three) but like I said, it's enjoyable and the differences between night and day add a different perspective to the game play.

great work and keep it up

Nice game, reminds me The Walking Dead, but in a stationary story line location. I understand that this is an apocalypse on the zombie level, but in a rural area I think there would be more guns available (well at least in my neck of the woods there be gun's a plenty around here- granted not assault rifles), and at least more survivors. I went 12 days before I found my first weapon and 20 days before my first survivor. And since the last survivor I found one additional weapon and no survivors. Making for a very difficult game indeed against a constant rising zombie level ramp up.

It became more and more frustrating when each house search ended with nothing but wasted time and increasing zombie attacks and rapidly dwindling defenses.

Action: 4
Lots of shooting, but after a while it becomes repetitive. A nice touch would be being able to set up traps on the walk up for the walkers to encounter. Increasing survivability chances some.

Story line: 3
Very linear. Granted with zombie survival how much more can you do. Moving to new locations would help greatly and allowing them to get to a safe house to be rescued.

Animation: 4
The death throes of some of the zombies were nicely done, and were wonderfully animated. Unfortunately after a while it looks like you are being attacked by patrons from a 'Twin Festival'.

Sound: 4
The gun reloading is nicely done, as is the gun shots themselves. The only complaint on this level is the neutral zombie groan when killed regardless of what sex the zombie is. I understand this is quibbling, but for immersive gameplay it can take away from it.

Music: 4
Nice, and ominous.

Difficulty: 3 (difficult)
The difficultly ramps up quickly after the 5th day - by the 10th day, with no help or new weapons, makes survival extremely frustrating. And if the acquiring of survivor and weapons is wholly random, there will be players who will have a lucky streak and find nearly each house populated by half the town, while others (like myself) walked into a town that became zombies and prior to the zombie invasion burned all their guns in an attempt to end gun violence (aka The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror XIII "The Fright to Creep and Scare Harms")

This really is an excellent game and has excellent potential, but there is a glaring issue with the skill of party members. Even with my entire party tasked with defending the house, I am the only person shooting and this makes the game unfairly difficult in the endgame. I would love to see a sequel with extra content and refined mechanics but the aforementioned problem is glaring.

I would definitely suggest the following, on top of what I said above:
- The ability to move your main base and maintain overall mobility of your group, therefore logically reducing your chances of being swarmed by enemies and making it easier to scavenge, but also thoroughly reducing your ability to stockpile supplies as a consequence.
- The ability for your character to go scavenging (and possibly even participate in other activities), giving the gameplay greater depth than simply shooting as many zombies as possible.
- Greater customization of your party members to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Greater micromanagement (and consequentially greater difficulty) through the introduction of features like morale, ammunition, and food.
- Variability in party members, giving them more depth than simply portraits and skills; as a leader, you have to manage them as people and respond to decisions other than who does what and killing zombies.

As I said, this game has extraordinary potential and I hope that you only improve.
