Reviews for "OMS - One More Shooter"

Giocabilità semplice, musica ottima, nel complesso più che buono :)

Decent for a first attempt. Nice job with the medals too. Now to the feedback:

I know the demo game on flixel's website (mode) uses the keys Z and X for control, but I really think that since you only have one button to shoot, you might as well use spacebar.

You didn't add a mute sounds button, but just to let everyone know - flixel has a built in volume control (press + and - keys to adjust).

Also, you might want to disable key input while the game is restarting - just tap the R button rapidly and you'll know what I mean.

Now to the code - I think you should add an in game variable to determine if a medal has already been unlocked, before attempting to make a call to the NG API to unlock it. For example, you unlock the "First Blood" medal whenever the function overlapAlienBullet is called. Even though the medalPopup doesnt appear, it still adds an overhead to the game. Just a tip.

P.S. You can actually use FlxG.random() instead of Math.random().

Thank you very much for your tips.
I know that code is not optimized and have a various of useless functions. I'll work on it in my next games.

Gets Hard Too early. I cant reach 110 Kills. If You put 3 lifes in the game, maybe that way I can reach 150.
Good.

I tested game with my friends and one of them earned 154 kills. So I made a medal for 150 kills. I know it is very hard and requires high skills, but it is real.
Thanks for playing)

Very simple, but quite good for a first game. Unfortunately, with nothing but the ability to move up and down and shoot, it's a tad one-dimensional and gets old rather quickly. Fortunately, this is something you can improve once you start making more games - add things like Power-Ups and Upgrades, more advanced enemies and bosses, things that reward you for staying alive longer. Nobody cares about score. People care about death and staying alive if there's something good to look forward to, something they'll hate to lose but isn't that difficult to acquire given enough skill, and a difficulty curve that ramps up and isn't just about throwing more guys at them.

The visual effects are sprites, but are well done sprites, and the screen shake on death is well-handled. The music in-game is very repetitive and kind of loud - give players the option to turn off the music and/or sounds.

There are some spelling mistakes, particularly in the opening screen. Might want to fix those.

Excellent review!

Graphics- 1
Sound- 1
Fun- 1

The graphics look to be about 6-8 bit. The graphics are just plain. There is no wow, or comical factor.

Sound- I can actually count about 5 sounds and thats it. There is nothing to get you pumped or or excited.

Fun- I only played for about 5 minutes and was just not interested any more.

The one good thing is there are no bugs. For your first try making a game bug free is good work. However, even a small amount of variety can make a game a lot better.
