Reviews for "Muu: Just Another Day"

excellent

if this is your first game,i cant wait to see what's to come!

WOW

Punishing difficulty sneaks up on you after the easy beginning. Didn't realize Chicken Mode couldn't be turned off once it had been activated.

This game made me late for work with its addictive "gotta get past this one spot" gameplay. Kudos!

Question: Did you use Stencylworks to make this game?

Miktar responds:

Yup. Like I mentioned in the Author Comments above, I used StencylWorks since this is my first game, and I'm not a programmer in any way. Most of the two weeks spent making the game, was used learning how Stencyl works.

omg fnally won!

That was epic, I honestly feel like I have skill. Thanks to buzboprud, you have to jump to speed up and that really helped. Thank God for endless lives you put in (imagine if you had to restart after 3 deaths?) Just wondering, what inspired a game like this? I feel like it's Mario.

Miktar responds:

I grew up with a lot of pretty hardcore platformers, like Super Mario Bros and all the Mega Man games. With the tricky-to-master platformers having come back in fashion lately, thanks to things like N+ and Super Meat Boy, I thought I'd try my hand at one. I'm glad you liked it!

Great for a first, nice atmosphere!

BUT, what some have already said, it's really frustrating to get through. The jump may be the main problem, it kind of feels 'stiff', like it should have a longer reach. I managed to get the 'trick' of gaining speed by falling on cliffs, but it still demanded 100% accuracy(then I played chicken mode and it was quite a breeze)...
Other than that, great graphics and music. I look forward for a 'sequel'! (or something along the lines, it's an intesting game conceptwise)

Saving the love of your life everyday

So, finding true love and saving them from slavery is just another day for Muu? :U

Anyway, -superb- game. Made it all the way through without too much difficulty, and the sloping jumps were fun to figure out. Pixel-perfect platformers are my kind of game. I loved the Mario reference as well (who also saves... yeah, you know).

I was curious the whole time about Easy mode, so after I beat it, I replayed to see what easy mode did. I was expecting colors all over the place, but instead there were chickens in boxes. I can't decide which I like better. :3
