Reviews for "Mission in Space"

Great game but has an annoying bug

The game is very reminiscent of the old X-COM games (simplified considerably of course). The mechanics of combat are pretty solid and the animation was more than acceptable for this type of gaming. My only complaint about the mechanics is that you have no control over who the soldiers fire at when at alert. For example, one of my soldiers wasted all of his ammo on aliens well out of range allowing ones much closer to move in to strike because the game made them move last. Perhaps you could code in an ability for you to choose the maximum range to fire at.

Nasty "bug": When I reset my stats it lowered the max amount by 4 or 5 points! I couldn't re-buy the same abilities. Either it doesn't recount the badges which give you SP or you lowered the amount of SP gained when you updated (LVL 9 with only 7/7, I was getting +2 stat points per level).

More than your average flash

Even tho I'm not a fan of this game type, I enjoyed it very much. The gameplay was well tought, the music is very fitting and good, overall the game is well balanced between gameplay, graphics, music and sound effects. Difficulty is spot on I think, not much to say on the bad side, except ONE annoying thing. On the skill tree screen, the remaining/total skill points is pale green on very light gray, and is a pain to read! (at least for me). That would be the only thing bad I could say about this game. Thanks, keep up the good work!

Thank you for your review :)

You must be playing an old version of the game, because we corrected the skill points display, so that it's more easy to read. The last version is 1.36v (you can find the version number at the bottom left of the title screen).

Cool Game

Really reminds me of fallout 2 and that's awesome.

Awesome turn-based strategy game

While it's not breakthrough revolutionary, this is a very well-executed game. Each character has various capabilities which need to be suitably combined to complete a variety of missions. I like the fact that it's turn-based, so that I can leave it and come back as I please. Sound effects and music are well chosen and make the game come to life.
I did run into one bug: after restarting in campaign mode after accidentally deleting all my flash cookies, suddenly all troopers had 900 life, 90 AP, and 90 MP. Not sure if the cookie thing was related. While this made me basically invincible and got me through all levels with ease, refreshing the window with the flash restored normal stats, making it much more fun to play again.

Nice game

Nice work on the graphics, music and gameplay, it's fun!

I have no further comments on whatever flaws to give. Your storyline about aliens in an empty space station is already been used several times but I'm ok with it.

The music at the main menu, it does give me the Harkonnen feeling back in Westwood's 1st 3D RTS, Emperor : Battle for Dune. Good old nostalgia!
