Reviews for "Adventures of Veronica"

Well ...

Long story short, the lack of the inventory is kinda annoying since you have to click a lot. I would suggest to add a list of the items you got instead of the selection ... Then, I agree with 0114ch - you should probably give some hint when you hover the mouse over a clickable object.

On the bright side, even without hints this was solveable. Sometimes it is pretty easy and sometimes it makes you think. If you like games like this, I would recommend it.

Besides of that, I needed the walkthrough in the end for the machine code. And a small report: If you click the right spot, you can get the clawhammer before you used the hacksaw blade. Hope this helps.

Good game but the cellar door?

I enjoyed it, the puzzles were usually good without being impossible, It was interested enough to keep my attention throughout, i'd like more games like this.
One thing, i don't know how i'm meant to guess the combination for the cellar door, in the end I had to check the walkthrough, and it doesn't appear to tell you how you find that out, it just puts in two random symbols, maybe i missed something.
In general, good interesting game, and i'll definately play the sequel.

The symbols are the ones that you will see on the back of the playing cards in the game room.

Entertaining riddles, thin story

I enjoyed playing this entertaining game though I would have liked more story telling throughout the game. The graphics were nice, animation was good, the sound wasn't too annoying.

If I may, please let me point out how to make it a 10/10:

1. The "No inventory management" is a good idea but results in a click orgy. Rather pop up a table or list of all items and let me click the one I think will work than requiring to skim trough using arrows.

2. The second click orgy is happening when searching the required items: there is often no hint what objects are interactive or where hiding spots are.
Highlighting them when the mouse moves over would be cool

3. It doesn't make a puzzle more interesting if I have to run trough the whole building back and forth to get it solved

I liked it ...

But it has some bugs ... at least on my computer ... when i want to use a item, swaping them won't work properly, I had to go right and then left to see the others every time

This is pretty cool!

The background story's pretty interesting.

The music's a bit eerie, though it is expected for this type of game.

I've gotten so used to seeing the cursor change when it's over an interactive object, that I was actually shocked that it wasn't available in this game.

One thing that really surprised me as well as made me smile was hearing that familiar "puzzle solved" jingle, that I believe I haven't heard since my elementary school days. If this sounds foreign to you, just know that there was a jigsaw puzzle game on the old PowerMacs (before the switch to Intel), where when you successfully put all the pieces together in the puzzle, this very same jingle that I'm hearing in this game would play! An epic blast from the past for me!

I look forward to completing the game. I also wish that one could loop through all of the usable items, without having to change direction. Great work.
