Addictively Simple
Alright, one button, 2 ways to die, one objective - get out of the endless pit. This is Tetris-grade minimalism taken to a strangely satisfying extreme. Attempts are short enough that 'just one more' feels like nothing at all. The randomly placed spikes keep each time feeling fresh, while the variable height jump and speed boosting give a player a sense of fine tune control. The higher you go, the more each press of the ESC key seems like Russian Roulette, while the giant laser (something appropriate and welcome in any game) applies a sense of urgency to the decision.
I lost 2 hours to this without realizing, and when the time finally hit me, I couldn't count it as wasted. Well done, sir.
