Reviews for "VG Cats Animated 5"

Funny. Worth watching

I know nothing about the VG Cats, but I liked the KOTOR and Metal Gear references. The were well executed, and the "alarm!" gag was hilarious. Thanks for the fun.

That was..

Adorable :D!?!?

Cool

The vg cats are awesome and your animation is awesome!

I love what you've done here

I love the VG cats webcomic, it's always amazing. I love that you're animating them, it translates really well and you do an excellent job of it. The voices at the very end, in the lockers, are a bit muffled and kinda hard to make out, but eh, it's not that big a deal.

Yeah, I found later that this was an odd place to stop putting in subtitles.

Very good, a few minor flaws.

Ah, doing fan fic ones too are we? To start off before I actually review, I'd like to say that this fan fic one sure does give mixed signals in terms of story. It really leads to the heart of what I think the series' biggest problem is character wise. Between the two main characters, there's always a muddled relationship. Given that the Comic has no straight foward story line, you could easily read the first comic and skip to the last and it not matter at all story wise. Even so, although the story never progresses, I feel as if the characters do. I feel that the relationship between these two supposed "friends" isn't very friendly and in others, it appears they are close, so which is which? In some comics, Leo is an absolute idiot and Aeris is an abhorring bitch, who lashes at Leo for his idiocy, and in others Leo is simply Goofy and Aeris, although short tempered, takes it all in stride. Clearly, I prefer the latter much more, because level headed characters are much easier to relate to.

As I feel, Aeris shouldn't hate leo for being goofy and Leo shouldn't act like a total nut case without taking into consideration the feelings of Aeris. The two should at least be on a close friends bases, not a "I'm an idiot and I hate you for being an idiot" type of relationship. It just does nothing for character development. And even if the comic has no real story or sense of direction, character development is always always prevelant regardless. At least, in my opinion.

Alright, so now on to the real review:

This flash was done handidly well, although you are right, it's not the best I've seen of you animation wise, but it was still very good. Do you know what that means? It means you're beginning to have consistency in your flash, you've nailed the basics so well that you now make quality flash without having to think to hard about it. A priceless thing indeed, and all due to your growing experience.

Your Voice Actors this time around, really came through, albeit that Leo's voice could have been more childish but it was good enough for me. The robot's voice was spot on, mechanical, yet easily understood. The background Music was perfect throughout and transissioned beautifully into one another. From the Snake jungle music to the Robot music, it felt right, given the scene and situation.

Animation was pretty good, you got that Artwork down. My one cripe is that Duke's arm is floating. That's kinda wierd and doesn't really follow the other character models. Even if that was in the comic, you probably should have gone and attached it anyways. The animation wasn't astounding but it got the job done and the character movements and lip syncing were pretty good. A grade A job indeed.

Despite not being the best I've seen Animation wise, this particular adaption had it all. It had the matching artwork, the fluid animation and voice acting that didn't make you cringe. On top of that, it had good background music, which really allows the viewer to know they are watching a flash and not just a moving comics strip. It immerses the viewer, good job. I wondered where the ending bit was when the credits rolled, saw it was after the credits, not a bad choice at all. Isolates the joke and makes it transission into it much better than having it start out right as soon as they leave. This kind of experience is worth it's wieght in gold (wieght I suppose being converted into bytes) The fact that it's not only experience, but also good, is just icing on the cake.

Brilliant work once more,

-Hollow P.

I really do wish Scott Ramsoomair could see your review, it has so many good ideas in it for both of us. I think you're totally right about the Duke Nukem arm thing, I really should've just connected it. Hmm... I may go ahead and connect it. Who knows.

Rest assured, I'll be taking your advise with me for VG Cats 6
