Not bad at all! As a (self-confessed) scrub to programming, a Snake game seems to be a good place to start. Keep up the great work! :)

Simple
It's simple snake, but I think if you copy a game you should make it better, the graphics are boring, the colors don´t match and there are no bonuses.
I would like to see some improvements and not just the original game with other colors.
If it was your goal to make the game like the original then you did a great job.

i've never made a game but i imagine it wouldn't be too hard to put in a pretty background pic instead of just blue, and maybe some music and a sound effect or two when leveling up?

You are exactly right to call this a simple Snake game.
And that is the problem. It's boring and not entertaining enough. This could have been so much better if more features were added, such as music, a scoreboard, or maybe a preloader to make this look good.
