Reviews for "A Boy and his Box"

A whimsical storybook tale...

I really enjoyed the movie, especially the storybook narration (great voice actress); however, either at points the narrator's voice was too soft or the background music was too loud and it became a bit muddled (in my opinion - the background music was too loud; also perhaps a subtitle option next time?). One little thing: at the end in the golden tower, the narrator says the boy looks to his left (which is the viewer's left but the boy's right) and then to his right (again, it's reversed).

Xcyper33 responds:

Haha yeah, someone pointed that out to me but I figured I'd let it go XD.

uh, long in a bad way.

it's prophesied, not prophesized. The voice acting is really solid, but there's too much narration. Too wordy! it'd be fine if it was an audiobook, but as an animation it's tiresome. Why say "with a great big smile on his face"? It should be visible that he's smiling. If you insist, less adjectives, better words. make it into "with a grin,". The music worked really well, it made it less boring, and improved it by 3X. As for colour, I like how you restricted it a bit, but the gray in the cave wasn't dark enough, and it'd be even better if you gave it slight colouring. I also particularily love how I paused it and it went to the beginning. Not finishing it, sorry.

Almost good but...

Story is too long. You could make stop-play-forward-back buttons.
Or you could make it 2 parts.
Story was good.I liked.
Keep working ;)

Not bad.

It was nice. Not too much wrong with it. The story was cute and I liked the character designs. I know a lot of comments have already pointed the issue with the volume levels, so I'll skip that. Another thing I noticed was a bunch of holes in the colouring and just some messy lines. I found it a little corny, but if it's aimed towards younger children that's not that big a deal. The biggest questions I have are: 1) What was up with the dreams? Those feel like they need explanation. 2) Why on earth is it rated T??? Overall, it wasn't a bad use of 17 minutes.

grrrrrrr

Only thing i liked was the girl voice, she realy talented in narating
