Reviews for "Flash Shadowgate"

Awesome

I loved this game when I was a kid, and I think that mouse support makes it so much better. Considering that game time is limited as the torches are always burning, the ability to point-and-click instead of slowly moving the cursor definitely speeds up the game. Granted, there are SO many torches in the game, it's nearly impossible to run out anyway, but that's not the point (although I will still search for the infinite torch cheat, just so that I can say I found it). Overall this is a great port of a game I used to enjoy playing, and the only problem I've found so far is that the hammer in the dragon's room is referred to as a bone when it's picked up. Since that's no big deal, I'll still give you a 10.

Thanks for the support. I'm very happy you enjoyed it. I will look into the Hammer issue. Thank you for letting me know about it.

-EDIT-
I looked at the code and tested it, but the message "THE HAMMER IS IN HAND." is what comes up for me. If you continue to have this problem let me know and I'll do what I can to fix it.

thank you !!!!

now please do dragon warrior or its sequel !!!!!pleeeeaaassseee!!!!!!!

larrymcduck responds:

You're very welcome. My brother and I are actually working on Shadowgate 2. Dragon Warrior maybe later on, but that wouldn't be until after our next project is done.

Awesome! Really brings back memories!

It;'s amazing how you've recreated the old game in Flash, plus with all the other improvements (like not having to wait for the scrolling text to finish) and recreating all the music! Great job!

Do you plan on doing Univited or the Deja Vu games as well?

larrymcduck responds:

It took a lot of work, and I'm happy you enjoyed it. I personally didn't like having to wait for the scrolling text either, so I wanted to save time for everyone. As for Uninvited or Deja Vu... no, but my brother and. Are working on Shadowgate 2.

One of my FAVORITE nes games of all time!

I loved playing this game. Thank you for putting it on NG. You rock!

larrymcduck responds:

You are very welcome. Glad you loved it.

Good try.

Pretty good port I guess, after all the addition of mouse controls is a great improvement. However there is one big glaring flaw. I can't seem to get through the front door of the castle. Now maybe I'm doing something wrong, but if I remember the original game in order to transition from room to room you could either click on the exit marked on the mini-map or the exit itself in front of you (assuming it was visible), however when I do that here I keep getting sarcastic remarks from the game about how the door is open or that's odd behavior for such a brave warrior. It seems other reviewers were able to get around this, but you've stumped me.

larrymcduck responds:

What exactly are you doing to have this issue? Make sure you don't have an action selected so you may walk through the door.
