I wish it was this easy to go up the descending escalators in real life ._.
Pretty darn silly
I like this type of silly, waste-your-time game occasionally. The pointlessness of it all reminds me of Achievement Unlocked. I can think of some definite improvements that would make it worth actually recommending to other people looking for a silly game.
1. "Escalator muzak"! Provide us with some cheesy tune playing in the background.
2. On the later levels, have some windows or background images to provide a frame of reference as to height - maybe on the last level, the escalator goes out the roof and up to a mountain, and there are birds flying past or something. This is just pure silliness, so make it sillier! =D
3. Sound effects like heavy breathing after exertion might be nice, or you could have people going down the escalator that you have to jump over.
