Reviews for "DaVinci's Skycycle Chase"

I'm Italian

i'm Italian and i say "LOL"

I didn't think it was possible...

But Leo DaVinci can and will choke to death on an N64 controller, given the chance.
A nice little game, though the control was a little slow. It had just the right amount of challenge(Difficult enough to make me want to keep playing, but not so difficult that it feels unfair.). All-in-all, a pretty damn good game.

Good job!

Educational

I've learned so much about DaVinci from this game, now how do I earn the second secret medal to complete my collection?

molkman responds:

Looks like you need to learn a little more then, pal! I'm glad we could teach you a little something about the history of awsome, though.

I just CAN'T explain why I just love a game, which I don't survive for even a third of the track.
It may be this awesome artstyle (the baboon face makes me shit myself every time I see it) and the totally weird idea of playing Leonardo da Vinci on flying bicycle, escaping from a dragon by eating healthy food and books o.O
It may be that, or some weird mind controlling wavelength hidden in the music.

And by the way, WHO is throwing world literature at me? I'm always so much focused on getting the books, that I forget to look at him.

molkman responds:

Glad you enjoy it for no rational reason.

And it is Nietzsche throwing the books. Check them 'stache, yo.

I demand more!

5/5 8/10

I'm deducting a star for slightly unresponsive controls. While moving slower and at a slight delay may add to the challenge, the controls are the last place to look when making a game challenging. Perhaps add some things that hurt us regardless of whether or not we eat them?

I demand you make an equally comical, well-styled sequel.
If that doesn't work, I'll ask you very nicely instead.

The art is what really drew me in, I love the way our cyclist looks in general, and I love the way he eats things. The fact that he keeps looking back at the dragon with that "I've got my eye on you" look is priceless. After that comes the music. Really fits the look of our cyclist, and the setting the game takes place in.

Now for my demands!
Upgrades! I mean, its pretty much become a given in this style of flash game.
A plot! Preferrably funny. Give us more than "Run". Why is this poor Maestro suddenly the dragon's next meal? He seems like a pretty cool guy, Rides a skycycle and doesn't afraid of anything. Also, we seem to be just as hungry as the dragon, if not more.

Another two stars lost for the lack of any story what-so-ever. The three of you obviously have grandiose talent between you, surely you can tell us a story.

I like to think a game with great gameplay but no story makes an okay game, and a game with a great story but bad gameplay makes an okay game.
However, a game with addictive gameplay that can tell you an interesting story makes a game you'll never forget.

tl;dr
I love your game, but it needs more.

molkman responds:

Thanks for the huge review! That's some really helpful writing right there.
