Reviews for "Super Filly Adventure"

blank ending

enjoy playing this and got the blank ending

The Blank Flank Ending...

... is what drew me to your game in the first place. I saw a comment on a YouTube video about "Story of the Blanks", which said that this was much scarier. I can't fully understand WHY I willingly sought out either of these games for the purpose of experiencing fear, but there's something... oddly appealing about it. MLP is such an innocent show on its own, so I guess I'm compelled to see how the fandom is able to take that premise and make it scary. Some of it is sub-par ("Cupcakes" is more disgusting than it is scary), but I think this scare really works.

First I played "Story of the Blanks", and while this is obviously not the appropriate place to review that game, let me just say that there was a different kind of terror to be found within that story. It wasn't a "jump at your face" kind of fright, but rather an ominous chill... The worst (or should I say best?) part about it was how it seemed creepily plausible within the realm laid out for us by the show's producers, especially given the fairly recent "Cutie Pox" episode. The scary part of that game was that it didn't feel like just another contrived plot to turn something which was not frightening into an absolute terror just for the sake of doing so... It felt real, like it could happen.

With that out of the way... I'm happy to say that the Blank Flank ending was indeed scary. It's obscurely hidden, but from what I've seen, you did that on purpose so as to avoid frightening the wrong audience (kids), and I think that's really tactful considering the way some people shamelessly upload screamers and give no warning. Really, some awesome forethought on your part - that way this game can be enjoyable for everyone, just like the show it was modeled after! I find screamers to be utterly deplorable most of the time, but the way this one was handled was really well done. It still scared me, but at least I saw it coming! I guess what I liked most about it was how you tied it into the "Story of the Blanks" - again, it made the scare more realistic and thus, more frightening.

... Hrm. I can't believe I wrote all that about just ONE of the endings to this game. I barely even discussed the way the game plays. But then, you've gotten plenty of reviews talking about just that, and I felt like talking about this a little more in-depth since it's what got me to play in the first place! I'm not normally harsh when it comes to reviewing things unless the situation really calls for it, so I feel compelled to grant you a 5/5 for the Blank Flank ending alone. Good stuff!

Jay6 responds:

Thanks for the insightful review! Even though it's just of the "Blank Flank" ending itself. That ending was one of the first things I thought of when starting to develop ideas for my game, and I'm glad it's getting a really positive response! I do WANT to make another pony game, but I've got much larger projects that I've been working on for the past few months... and I really need to get working on them, and finishing them. So no go for a sequel. HOWEVER, I did make a SOPA Filly Adventure (parody of this game). It's over on my DeviantART page here: http://jay6-the-canadian.deviantart.c om/#/d4mn0cg
