Reviews for "Toys Vs Nightmares"

like plants vs zombies but way better

4 Stars because you need it harder and more toys.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII like plants vs. "Ehem" este toys vs nightmares! :)) :D come and play it it's fun of horror! :D PLAY NOW!

So this is Plants vs. Zombi--*AHEM* Toys vs. Nightmares. Not that special

So yes, this is "inspired" by Plants vs. Zombies, to the point of ripping it off. and the fact that you so adamantly try to defend this with terrible logic is humorous.

You see, the difference between ripping off and taking inspiration, is the idea of adding new gameplay mechanics to make your own game special. Most shooters don't just simply rip off Doom or Quake, they add their own gameplay elements to it. All I can tell from Toys vs. Nightmares, is that it just looks and sounds different, which really isn't enough. It plays almost EXACTLY like PvZ. The only real difference is that you can speed up the production of fantasy, which is a questionable mechanic to begin with.

For starters, PvZ was smart in how sun was produced. The player had to work around the timing of sun production, which added depth. Here, I can spam-click the books to produce a massive amount of fantasy at the start, which gives me an unnatural head start.

Second, do you know how irritating and tiresome it is to repeatedly click the mouse button over and over again? It's not fun. Why couldn't it just be that you hold down the button to do this?

Third, even after the massive amount of clicking, you still have to wait for the fantasy to form, which takes far too long. And even after its formation, there's this delay in the collecting of it. The whole thing seems like a series of conflicting design choices that makes it more annoying than interesting.

The game looks and sounds nice, but I was running it on medium quality, and it felt sluggish. Didn't seem very optimized.

I stumbled upon a bug as well. When I had the pause menu open while the toy box menu was open behind it, and I tried to change a setting, I ended up buying a toy as well. Apparently, my click on the pause menu transferred to the other menu as well.

I didn't get far into the game, because it's so obvious what was trying to be done here. Yes, PvZ is great, but it's not necessary to make a knock-off game to tell us that. If you want to make your own game in the same style, go right ahead. But you need to try a little hard than this.
