Vanity and Expectations

I loved this flash, I agree with that people should stay true to who they are also when they're in love.

This doesn't mean that people should forsake themselves though. Self-Improvement stimulates your confidence, but it's important to do because YOU need it and not because you expect attention from it.

The most striking commonly accepted example of this is girls wearing make-up. I'm a guy, but I'd like to think most girls get a confidence boost from wearing it and that's a good thing, as long as vanity and expectations aren't the dominating factor of using it.

The thing is that most if not all people love acceptance and approval and achieving it can become the goal rather than the result of what you are.

Agreed! One should never outright disown self improvement, but one shouldn't let it consume them either. There's a healthy balance between noble self improvement and obsession with being what the world "expects" you to be.

Prime example of short story wonder

Its short, simple, lovable, and has a clear message that anyone can appreciate.
Its a perfect example of how short stories/animations can be just as powerful as full length movies/novels

It even made me tear up a bit.
