Reviews for "Dry Eternity RPG"

hmmm

From what I can see this game is just an average RPG, I was going to actually play it, but as stated below I encountered a bug that made my game not continue after the third fight against a flan. The game doesn't actually freeze up, the flan just doesn't die and it's as if the game gets stuck in the transition of ending the fight.

Denegoth responds:

The problem should hopefully be fixed now, if you want to take another crack at it.

Intelligence is the most important stat, at least end-game. I guarantee you're not going to hit that Eternal Overlord medal without it unless you enjoy grinding for a year.

Here's why the other stats aren't as important as Intelligence. Once you're at The Creator and can reliably defeat him by just spamming Dark attacks, that is you have enough Willpower such that you don't run out and you have enough Vitality he doesn't kill you, then the only thing you should ever continue to improve is Intelligence.

Optionally you can boost Speed some if you just want to dominate, but once you're the one attacking The Creator first, you no longer should even optionally boost that.

And Strength is a joke by that point. Are you going to be dealing 4000+ damage with each hit with your melee weapon? I don't think so! But you can easily hit that spamming Dark attacks if you equip all the wizard stuff and just concentrate stat points on Intelligence.

Really, you can use and improve Strength early on if you want, and using the better swords and such, but by late game you really should be full wizard gear and concentrating everything on Intelligence.

Also, for leveling, you'll want to fight easier enemies -- a lot -- before strong enough to take the next one, etc... The game is a lot of grind.

I think....

You really need some better art for the main character.... D:
Other than that it's okay.....

It was fun for a while.

Lvl 255 at last... Took forever, would really like more powerful monsters to make leveling faster. Gold becomes obsolete very early. Bought all items after beating the Creator a few times. Lastly, everyone keeps complaining about the medals but they worked just fine for me. Perhaps they jumped several levels at one time and it made them miss the badge?

Denegoth responds:

Actually there was an issue with the later medals, but a newer version I uploaded fixed it, so that's why the medals worked for you!

It's got potential.

Make combat faster and put in more enemies/areas.
The music was pretty good and I recognized the sound effects from Morrowind, which is always nice.
Simplistic graphics is always a good way to go when you want to get an idea out fast, so I can't harp on those.

Denegoth responds:

A fellow Morrowind fan? Sweet!

Anyway, I guess this game could be considered more of a tech demo than anything else, what with the fairly complex stats system, but the lackluster combat. I've planned a sequel ahead of time if this was received well, which will have waaay more substance to it; faster combat, overworld screen, items, all those sorts of things.
