That was obnoxious.
I fear these paragraphs will fall on blind eyes. You'll justify it as stupid fun, and there's no problem with that. Bronies will get pissed I gave it a low score, and ignore any valid points I might make. It's all good...because someone needs to play it straight to you.
It's not a big deal that Celestia was blatantly voiced by a guy who wasn't even feigning a feminine voice like Luna, but the fact that it sounded like he was being recorded inside of a hollow tin can. The delivery is minimalistic when it's not unnecessarily annoying. Despite what you might learn from Will Ferrell, screaming doesn't automatically equate to comedy...especially considering the context in what's happening...which, spoiler alert, is the same thing three times in a row. But I guess that's okay because it's shooting for the "random" category...let's get real, it's more of a cop out to sacrifice effort.
Keep your volume on a standard level and press play on this animation. Starts off quiet as the actor (actors?) stumble through their improvised lines. Then screaming ear rape over what I can only assume is the punchline. The audio is not balanced tastefully at all...it's already bad enough we got someone screaming the same predictable line repeatedly, but it seems to have been bumped up in volume. We can SEE she's holding a megaphone...it's not necessary to emulate that experience for the viewer at home.
We start with animated body language and facial expressions and turn to squiggle horses. Half a minute in, I suppose you realized you were animating two heads just talking and found the need for text to float in and help carry the rich dialogue along.
I don't know what these people below me are hearing, because the only music was the end (sped up MLP credits music). Like I said, I might be repeating just to drive the point home, the punchline was abrasive as it was assaulting. In the context of what's going on between these characters, it makes no sense.
What are the good points to it? Functional navigation in the bottom right...that's pretty neat. The environments are well drawn...all two settings. But I really don't like this animation, dude...I don't think badly of you whatsoever, it's just...this submission was lame. He whispers "beeytch" like a kid afraid he's going to get in trouble for saying it within earshot of an adult. Even then, the fact that it's an archaic "beeytch" (only a lame step up from "beeyotch") is pathetic compared to...y'know...BITCH. If it was a punchy, sturdy BITCH instead of a mumbled "...mmbeeytch" it would have been attention grabbing.
Congratulations on the Daily 2nd. Happy 49th animation, that's more than I've done in total. I hope you don't take the review as an attack because that's not how it was intended.
