Reviews for "Villainous - Tower Attack"

First Good Reverse Tower Defense

Congratulations! This is the first fun, challenging, and well-balanced reverse tower defense game I've ever played. There are just a few balance issues that if fixed could make it even better. First, as fast as I can tell the turtle is never worth building. Because a fully-upgraded raider can take 1200 damage and a fully-upgraded turtle 2000, if you can get the raider through just one round you're better off with the additional point since damage scales 10% per round. Fully-upgraded turtles should have about health, or at least some damage reduction. Second, the cleansers are never worth building. You're always better off using an elemental, then just using the extra mana from it to stun the tower or quake it. Just one elemental can thus protect the whole army, as opposed to at least 2 cleansers. To balance this, cleansers need to have a much larger effective range. If you fixed these problems, you could make the game much more challenging in the later levels and require a more complex strategy than just effective spell use.

Very good

I wasn't convinced by the concept, but you proved it can be fun. Difficulty is well balanced and it must have been a challenge for you.
I wonder how to earn the gold medal on levels 18 and 20, seems impossible.
The upgrade and award systems are very nice (castle and throne), but the carpet didn't appear after i got all gold skills. Is it a bug?
I wish the game was a little faster. I never used normal speed as it was way too slow.
I also wish i hadn't had to play early levels so many times to earn enough money for harder levels.

Good, but unpolished

This is one of the better concepts I've seen, and it was executed pretty well. My only complaint is that the gameplay grew pretty stale - I used the exact same combination of troops to win the last 15 levels except for occasionally throwing in a warlock or two. I'd like to see a sequel with more dynamic strategies.

Finally

All this time and now there's finally a TD game that I can actually beat, instead of the usual 'play 'til you die'.. I feel like I've accomplished something by taking over all of the lands. Gave the game a purpose. I also liked the upgrade system. I may just be missing something, but if I'm not then it'd be cool if there was some end-game power so you could have a little fun after you've beaten it. Over all, the game was pretty good.

simple and easy. a self destruct button would be cool for when youre out of raiders though.
