Reviews for ".Loneliness."

The moral of the story:

Killing yourself solves your problems!

Badly programmed mess.

Heavy Rain was a slow game at times, and relied on emotional manipulation. However, it did at least vary the tempo and developed character, as well as having a decent (though heavily flawed) moral to it. This is just a piece of rubbish. It's boring, I have no sympathy or empathy for Walter because I wasn't given a reason other than that his unknown girlfriend was dead and we weren't even told how she died, the 'gameplay' (if you can even call it that) wouldn't even be acceptable as an extra on a bargain-bin DVD menu, and the message was ridiculous. People who kill themselves do so because they see it as their last resort, they need to be helped and know they have a way to deal with whatever trauma they're dealing with. Stuff like this totally spits in the face of the complexity of depression, by bringing it down to a childish status of "death causes loneliness, loneliness causes depression, depression causes suicide and suicide leads to escape". What about his remaining family and friends? They obviously cared for him and yet they just stand at the graves acting like he did the right thing, when they had every opportunity to help him sort his life out if they knew he was that desperate. There are films and games that fail to convey their message and that's one thing, but when a 'game' (loose sense of the word) contrives to create the complete opposite result of what it was trying to achieve, that's a travesty.

You get a point for the unintentionally hilarious scene of the old man dying and apologising for having a heart attack mid-sentence, and for the music which was pleasant. Other than that, this is just about the most worthless five points I've ever earned. I'd rather pass a kidney stone then ever lay eyes on this pretentious holocaust of imagination ever again.

Trying to be sweet but the moral just is not good. When someone you love dies, one should commit suicide? Plus nobody would let him just leave. Granted, it is trying to have an artistic feel. But when the old man dies and you're forced to just continue on.. It felt inhuman. Next time, don't include things that are, I guess, evil; when the game is trying to be sweet. Liked the music though. Half star.

You don't have a choice of ending and the only choice give is a terrible one shown as a good one. The cute music is out of place. Blam this! I don't know about your contry but here in Canada, encourage suicide is a federal crime.

People, don't commit suicide over a departed one.

Yikes. A "game" where you win by committing suicide and have your friends and family comment about how great it was that you did so? I use the term "game" because it's really a semi-interactive movie.

You have technical and artistic skill, but you need to improve your writing and creativity.
