Reviews for "Mega Miner"

Pretty much what everyone else has been saying.

Nothing original about this game. So similar to Motherload it hurts.

BAD

The games alright, but if you're gonna make a ripoff on motherload you should improve it, not make it suck

100% completed.

I've found everything. There'd definitely around 15 hours of play here. A little similar to Motherload but very, very fun.

LOL

What you created has already been done and dusted by XGen Studios. It must have taken a lot of time and effort to do something like this even if you didn't think of the concept yourself so that's why im giving you a three. On the otherhand its a complete ripp off, it does not compete with the original 'Motherload' and also just as a side note, if your going to try and replicate a concept and build on that, make sure you do it properly.

A few small issues.

Enjoyable, but with some noticeable problems.
1. For some reason the map gives you a wider view than your normal view does, allowing you to see where minerals are on your map while the spaces are still covered by the black unknown. Basically kept the map up the whole game as it was infinitely more useful than the standard view. Sadly the map also block a large portion of the right side of the screen, so any digging done at that edge of the map is obscured. Map should be in a corner, not on the centre side.

2. Despite what the mechanic would tell me the price of repairs were, the actual price was always 25% more(i.e. mechanic says $1000, end up losing $1250). Must be a goof in your calculation for the repair itself.

3. For some reason, after buying the first gas tank the game would flash the low fuel warning after losing only about 20% of a full tank. Once I bought the next one the issue stopped though.

It is nice to see a game that rewards players when they earn achievements, and really the only thing that I think hurt this game was there was no goal in the end. It's fun to just dig around and such, but I was kind of hoping I'd find something at the bottom of the dig besides just a wall. Some sort of story-important event might have been fun to tie the game together, with an infinite mode playthrough after you "beat" it. Also would have liked to see an upgrade tree for your range of vision so you could see farther and spot the rare items without quite so much busy work.
