Reviews for "Alight (in dreams)"

Fun, smart game.

I don't think it's fair to lump this in with all those tedious "art" games that don't hold up well as either art or game. It has some superficial similarities to those games, but instead of being vague for vagueness's sake, it tells a pretty sharp, straightforward story which I enjoyed.

I picked the alarm clock on every level, which results in a pretty decent challenge (friggin' birds). Once you get used to the jump and glide it works perfectly well. Here's a hint to anybody who's stuck: sometimes, you'll need to just use up your jumps so you can use space to glide and fall, glide and fall without worrying about your glides sending you upward. This aspect reminded me of the last level of the original Earthworm Jim. Anyway, this is a well done game!

sad

this is a sad story about dreams bringing someone back to there childhood its sad

It entranced me.

Discovering what the story behind this character was definitely kept me going. My curiosity lead me to the end, but the parts where you had to take one of the items back to the beginning proved to be almost too much of a challenge that it upset the nice dream feeling; it sort of became a nuisance. I do understand why those parts fit in though. It's an overall fantastic game but to me it was lengthy. I just really felt the emotion at the parts where you unveiled more of his story and the music fit perfectly to that as well. Great job!

Very intriguing and deep.

I was hooked on the story. One thing, though, you should separate the "jump" and the "glide" buttons. If you want to glide afterwards, you need to do a full-height jump. I can't count the number of times this messed me up.

Not up to snuff.

Hey, extra points for using smiletron's music but besides this the game had no appeal for me. It really got boring because the object never interested me enough to want to move forward. Also, the whole idea of flying is moot because you have a limited amount of times to press up/space which just makes it a jump. You're just jumping abnormally high. The glide is a nice touch to reach tough areas but overall it just didn't do it for me. Not enjoyable enough to want to make see it through to the end.
