Reviews for "Gap Monsters"

Amazing

This game's concept really is mind-blowing! It is perfect for a puzzle game and at first, it may look confusing at first, but you soon get to grips with it and the game is really enjoyable. It can get frustating at times, but I think that is the point. That is what drives you to want to complete it even more (well, what made me want to complete is so I could see each creature get trapped in their destiny). I love the music too, as it goes all pixel like for a short moment, and then it just explodes with some epic beats.

The fact that you earn stars for completing levels in the least moves gives the game so much more playability and I had (or still have) lots of fun trying to get them. Now, onto the level creator. This is just an amazing feature that is so innovative and challenging. You get to see how good some users minds really are at thinking up of fiendisly difficult levels for you to solve.

I think that what you have created here is completely mind-blowing and I hope to see more of it in the future.

Thank you for the review!

I'm glad you've... tolerated... the three layers of challenge:
1) Completing the original levels
2) Beating original levels within a certain number of moves
3) Levels created by other users, some of which are really fiendish, as well as their levels.

A mind-blowtorch, and you've survived its flames.
Play on, fellow monster.

Brain pain

its hard to make my brain hurt, but this puzzle game is the most thought out thing i've played...and i hate puzzle games...idk if it the game or the idea of those little monster's screams of agony that keeps me playing...im showin all the people i know...FACEBOOK!!! nice!

More MOre!!

Really had to put all parts of my brain into overdrive. MindBoggling! I'm not going to lie... had to cheat on a couple of them but I also managed to complete most of them on my own. I would love to see a part two to this. Maybe add some different color monsters, power-ups and screams or etc. Also I like how the users are allowed to create their own puzzles and test out the ones made by the community. nice job. I will be looking forward to a sequel! LOL

Thanks for the review!

A sequel, who knows?
Maybe the Monsters finally escape the clutches of their tormentors,
and once free, they forever frolic in fresher fields.

Hahaaaa no they won't.

Challenging

Man I simply loved the music, it's sooo cool. It reminds me of Super Meat Boy music, because the instruments are combined with 8 bit effects. The puzzles are very chanllenging and I try not to use the walkthrough. It's pretty hard and that's what I like. It makes you to think, to resolve the problem, though the monsters would feel better if they didn't reach the boxes XD. Great Job! like every of your submissions, this one is very very nice.

Nutcasenightmare responds:

Wait...
Hard challenges, 8 bit music, squishy killable square-shaped creatures...

That IS kinda like Super Meat Boy.

Where to begin

This is probably the best, or at least one of the best games I've played on NG. I love puzzle games, and gap monsters was a great game with plenty to do. Once you've finished all of the levels, you can go back and try to complete them in the least amount of moves to 'star' them. If you don't want to do that, you can create levels of your own and try and rate other peoples custom levels.

The level editor allows for endless creativity, and gap world is a stroke of genius. The rating system allows you to find a game suited to your play style, by allowing you to find the games rated most fun, most challenging, etc. Gap world even keeps track of your stats.

As for the puzzle mechanics itself, as far as I am aware the play style is unique, which makes for longer and more interesting gameplay and an overall better experience. The mosters are funny and really add something to the game.

For the reasons stated above, I give you 5/5 and 10/10.
