I believe I should mention that using the sentence, "So yeah, this was basically thought up as I observed THE notable lack of a comma whilst perusing throught the NGBBS thread concerning August's London Meet." would have been much better. There was only one incident noticed, I think it deserves a 'the' rather than an 'a'.
