Could've been better.
I loved playing the Unreal Flash games since they started out. They were some pretty amazing games. But I hate to say, after playing this, I feel a bit upset. It's not much of a stretch from UF2, is it? Only minor tweaks and updates. It's the same game, with the same content, and the same flaws.
Like friendly fire. When I want to kill an enemy, and my teammate is behind me, I would instead get killed by him, and the enemy would then, in turn, kill him. It would've been a GREAT change of pace had that been removed.
And maybe it's just me, but couldn't you have tried to make the AI, I don't know, competent? Artificial Intelligence? more like Artificial Stupidity. I mean, most King of the Hills are easy, considering the idiots keep killing each other instead of trying to kill the person who claimed the hill (me). Not only that, but in deathmatches, My whole team is willing to run head first into the group of enemies armed with anything and everything, themselves armed with just a bunch of pistols. Guess who wins?
Overall, the only real challenge in Unreal are the Masters. They seem to be the only AI's you ever made that won't shoot their own face in. In fact, I wish all the AI's in this game were as intelligent as the Masters. Would make for a better game.
And why couldn't you have taken out the auto-swap? I don't want to swap to some railgun when I'm tearing through enemies with a dual wield of shotguns. Because at that point, I'll probably have my head shot off because I couldn't swap back fast enough.
Overall, when someone makes a new game, they have to work out all the issues with the last ones that ppl didn't like. Not just run it through into the next one and irritate ppl more. Didn't you read the comments from UF2 and try to fix any complaints at all?
Though I must admit, there's at least some good perks of it. Like I said, the Masters are a challenge, so there's at least something interesting. And the ability to pick up weapons off fallen enemies and comrades is pretty good, too. But it's not really major new content, is it? Hardly a thing is changed.
All in all, the game has it's upsides, it's just overweighed by all the problems that's persisted since the last game. you may have tried to pass off a UF3, but it just looks like a UF2 clone to me. To nearly everyone, really.
