Reviews for "Run From the Sun"

Fun.

I appreciate the quality in animation and the effort put into the achievements system, however the gameplay is the -2 points on the picture. Once the game is played and understood comfortably it begins to bore and become more repetitive.
A larger emphasis on the ships differentiation is also another consideration.

Not bad.

BEST RUN: 16,300
AWARDS: All but Blind luck, Star Pilot, and Breathtaking Flying.
GLITCHES: When you spot a UFO, there is a good chance that the annoying beeping noise it's making will not go away after it leaves the screen, which is surprisingly similar to a digital alarm clock noise.

-Blue Meanie-
Spec. Ability: NONE

-Fabulous 49-
Spec. Ability: NONE

-Laser XS-
Spec. Ability: Greater Launch Velocity.
Effect: The speed increase is barely noticeable, thus not very useful.

-Space Marine-
Spec. Ability: Smaller Oxygen Tank.
Effect: This can be useful if you are trying to get blind luck, or slingshot bonuses, however the O2 meter is scarcely lower, and you will still fly for a long while before dieing.

-Tri-Flight-
Spec. Ability: No Gravity Effects.
Effect: Great if you want to die horribly over, and over again.

-The Bullet-
Spec. Ability: Enhanced Gravity.
Effect: The only ship that is a real upgrade from the Blue Meanie. It's gravitational pull makes aiming easier, and your ship will move significantly faster when near a planet. At least twice as fast as the Laser XS.

-Golden Oldie-
Spec. Ability: Larger Oxygen Tank.
Effect: The oxygen tank is as enhanced as much as Space Marine's tank is decreased. The bar literally increases by a millimeter, making it not worth the effort.

-Teal & Orange Xpress-
Spec. Ability: Increase Chances of UFO Sightings.
Effect: I didn't notice any more or less UFOs then usual, but maybe I didn't get lucky. To get this ship you to to slingshot TWENTY planets. Unless you are really good at the game, you're probably going to spot those 3 UFOs before being able to fly this ship.

-UFO-
Spec. Ability: Meteors Do Not Appear.
Effect: If you find meteors a problem, then this should be useful. However, this means you don't get close call bonus points, which can add up by the end of the game. They really don't cause many problems in the first place, but maybe that's just my opinion.

good for what it is

i'd have to say it is a good game and if there were to be a sequal which there easily could be since it has potential, you might want to expand upon the just few ships you get and have customization, upgrades, ya know the works.

but this is a good game and while only one button is hit i found myself amused by it for like half an hour and im sure the rest of you did too so stop complaining about the one button thing gosh.

Pretty Fun

Really enjoyed it while I was getting the achievements, and the new shuttles every couple of turns. Kept playing for about 30 minutes, and could never get the last shuttle.

I liked that it had a simple, but very fun concept. I liked that the shuttles all had different perks, but most of them you couldn't really tell anything different other than design. It seemed like half the shuttles were just there for something to unlock because they really weren't noticeably different from the first one. I liked the heavy gravity one, quick liftoff, ufo, longer O2, but the rest were just the basic model with a different coat of paint. The anti-gravity one was just pointless past the first few minutes where there were lots of planets. If/Once you got to the 10,000 planets it was just a waste because if you didn't hit the few planets there were dead on, you were just floating till O2 ran out.

Also, the game jumps in difficulty too much at the 10,000 mark. Again you go from 5 planets on the screen to 1, and then have the sun increase speed. So all the buffer I feel like I should have created is gone once you cross 10k and a single miss drops you back in the sun.

Again, fun game and the music is good, but 30 minutes is more than enough for me, there's just not a lot of replay value. Good Job though.

Fun and addictive

I love this game and how it is simple that it stands out from the rest one button games. I couldn't stop when I first played it. It's very fun, I keep trying to get as far as I can. Keep up the coolness. Thumbs up.
