Not bad.
BEST RUN: 16,300
AWARDS: All but Blind luck, Star Pilot, and Breathtaking Flying.
GLITCHES: When you spot a UFO, there is a good chance that the annoying beeping noise it's making will not go away after it leaves the screen, which is surprisingly similar to a digital alarm clock noise.
-Blue Meanie-
Spec. Ability: NONE
-Fabulous 49-
Spec. Ability: NONE
-Laser XS-
Spec. Ability: Greater Launch Velocity.
Effect: The speed increase is barely noticeable, thus not very useful.
-Space Marine-
Spec. Ability: Smaller Oxygen Tank.
Effect: This can be useful if you are trying to get blind luck, or slingshot bonuses, however the O2 meter is scarcely lower, and you will still fly for a long while before dieing.
-Tri-Flight-
Spec. Ability: No Gravity Effects.
Effect: Great if you want to die horribly over, and over again.
-The Bullet-
Spec. Ability: Enhanced Gravity.
Effect: The only ship that is a real upgrade from the Blue Meanie. It's gravitational pull makes aiming easier, and your ship will move significantly faster when near a planet. At least twice as fast as the Laser XS.
-Golden Oldie-
Spec. Ability: Larger Oxygen Tank.
Effect: The oxygen tank is as enhanced as much as Space Marine's tank is decreased. The bar literally increases by a millimeter, making it not worth the effort.
-Teal & Orange Xpress-
Spec. Ability: Increase Chances of UFO Sightings.
Effect: I didn't notice any more or less UFOs then usual, but maybe I didn't get lucky. To get this ship you to to slingshot TWENTY planets. Unless you are really good at the game, you're probably going to spot those 3 UFOs before being able to fly this ship.
-UFO-
Spec. Ability: Meteors Do Not Appear.
Effect: If you find meteors a problem, then this should be useful. However, this means you don't get close call bonus points, which can add up by the end of the game. They really don't cause many problems in the first place, but maybe that's just my opinion.
