Reviews for "The Body"

well...

i liked it but it was a little messed up with him killing his wife and stuff.. but over all it was good... keep up the good work..

Anticlimax.

Dude, I wanted to shoot the po'.

Definitely one of the better story driven games on this site. Animation really works, story is surprisingly good for such a short game and it manages to have an impact despite simple design. Overall, brilliant.

So here is my interpretation of the story.
Basically this guy is a killer, maybe he's a hitman or maybe he's just psycho, I'm not sure, but I get the feeling he can still function in society as he is able to to find a woman he loves. He marries her, but he's still killin' people, sooner or later the wife finds out and calls her brother to tell him she is suspicious of her husband as he (her husband) is always staying out late at night. The wife confronts the husband about his suspicious acts and as he loves her he tells her everything. She is of course mortified and tries to leave him, now he either kills her himself in a fit of rage, or an accomplice kills her for knowing too much, either way she is dead. The husband is incredibly grieved, but he can't break old habits so he stuffs her in a body bag and drives her body to the place where he buries them. At this point the brother-in-law is following the husband in the hope that he can confirm his sister's suspicions of the husband being unfaithful, all the while not knowing she is dead. Now we are caught up to the point in which the game begins. The husband is dragging the body out to the burial spot, but in his mind he is seeing flashbacks of her presence. He finds the shovel and begins to dig, this is when the brother-in-law comes into the scene and in a sudden wave of emotions at the sight of his sister's dead body, he falls to the ground in grief. The husband however see's him as a memory of his wife and angrily tries to suppress the memory by violently bashing her until she dissipates. However in reality all he really did was kill her brother. At this point the police have shown up and the husband immediately runs in the other direction towards the shack. When he enters the shack he is brought back to his wedding day and walks down the aisle towards his beautiful wife to be, but he is abruptly brought back to reality and picks up the shotgun on the desk. Overcome with grief, he turns the weapon on himself and pulls the trigger. In a white flash he is with his wife again.
I know that isn't the only ending, but it just seemed more fitting for the story. That was just my interpretation, however I could be really off, I would like other thoughts, otherwise really neat little game 9/10, would play again.

Nothing like the dead silence of the past to prove if a man is alive, or dead. Humans only look to their past when they are about to die, and the ones who lives in the past just cannot move on...

Such a heartbreaking experience, hands down one of the most simple yet effective way to tell a history. Great job!

But gameplay wise, not so good. There's no replay value, I had a better experience by just reading the fanfiction.

I LOVE YOUR GAMES AWKWARDSILENCEGAMES!!!!!
