Just A Step Further...

This game is a very beautiful game. Fluid animations and controls, and a perfect learning curve. Plus, it has a bit of a story if you pay attention.
My only complaint is the lack of additional levels. I would love to continue playing, and a custom map maker would've completed the deal.
If additional content is in the works, I will change this rating to a perfect 10!

I am thoroughly convinced everything level 16 and above is literally impossible on blind mode. There is no logistical possibility of outmatching their base production of ships, so what chance do I have? This has gotten me very frustrated, because I've beaten the game multiple times and loved it, but have found that on these levels on this difficulty there is no possibility of winning, I am convinced. For instance, on the Awakening, even if I do control every planet as a result of bum-rushing them for captures, I am still outproduced and outnumbered on each planet, so I am stuck with my manufacturing and the mother ship can just churn out warships like nothing. It's insane!

That said, I loved everything else about the game. I would definitely like to see a sequel, perhaps with construction options for colonized planets or for different types of warships.

I used to play this game when I was little and I still LOVE it now it is, to me, one of the best RTS games ever. Although, it has potential, that potential needs to be exploited more, as in more content and stuff.
Like this review if you want some or all of the stuff I'd like to see included in SOLARMAX below:
Multiplayer
Three-way matches
More special stations like Superlaser, Capital Ship, or maybe a human version of the Mothership
Upgradable planets, ships, stations, etc.
A form of currency
Trading lines that lend currency and ships to other planets
You can build your own stations (lasers, shipyards, etc.)
Planets and asteroids orbit each other
Occasional meteors, asteroids and solar storms that do stuff to you and the enemy
More different types of enemies and ships
100+ missions
"sandbox" where you can create and share your own levels
LIKE this review if you want some or all of the above!! :)

Good Game but Level 17 is difficult even on Normal Not sure how to pass it as the motherships production rate is unbelievable

I was thinking this game was too easy at first. It turned out that it truly was, because of how it got a lot harder on the third level. It's a rather strange game, but still playable. I think my favorite part is how cool the little red and blue guys look. It's very fun to see them just fly across the screen to the other planet. The music wasn't that bad either.

I assume you just have to keep on sending fleet after fleet if you want to truly win. It was still nice to have everything presented in such a good, cleancut manner. Those things look like little fish. It's also cool how your population slowly increases. I didn't notice that until writing this review!
