Reviews for "Divine Comedy: The Game"

The controls...

I really wanted to play through but I can't take it that the controls reacted slower when you're in hell.At first I thought it was something to do with my pc, but no. The monsters can hurt you without touching them, & with the controlling problem. So yeah...

I'm sorry......

I'm italian, and I really hoped this was a goood game, but it is not, and I feel sorry for my pour connational Dante..... I know you wanted to be on time for the game jam but, it is not good at all....

IndigenousDigitalist responds:

I know, I just wanted to see if I could actually pull off making a game in a weekend. If I had done this as a regular project, I would've put much more time into it, and it would've been a lot better.

Could use a lot of work

When you said were making a game based on Divine Comedy, i was hoping the game would actually resemble the Inferno. Instead, every circle of Hell looked the same, there was no monster variation, and you made no use of the abundance of colorful imagery that Dante provided in his Divine Comedy. I realize you made this game under a time constraint, but this game felt very lacking.
Gameplay could be improved by moving the bar with the score, health meter, and lives out of the field of view so that it doesn't obscure the top of the screen.

IndigenousDigitalist responds:

at the start of making the game, I had planned to make it like you described, by using the punishments of each circle of hell in the level, and much more color, but time just flew by, and this was all We could do.

PROGRAMMING

bad programmer lots of mistakes MANY glitches also the animation was rather poor

Not a bad side-scroller!

Not bad, voted a four! The only thing I didn't like is that it all seemed to easy. I breezed through this game. I think you should have made it a lot harder. Keep the three lives but if you touch an enemy (without jumping on its head or over it) you should lose a life. I could technically just walk through half the enemies and make it to the next level. Other then that it was smooth and neat.
