Reviews for "Elements of Arkandia"

when i saw that there was a level called "Lonely Island" I jizzed. in. my. pants.

Awesome game

I really like this twist on a Bejeweled style game. As people before me have said, Bejweled style games are usually boring but you have took the concept and turned it into a fun, RPG style game worth hours of fun. I really hope you continue to make flash games, I'm loving this "Arkandian" series.

Also, is the "Capitalism Ho!" achievement a reference to Recettear? It made me laugh so much because I am extremely fond of that game, I can tell that this game was inspired by it too.

Impressive improvement on the 'gem-matching' genre

I never liked Bejewled-esque games much, but I have found myself playing this for longer than I expected. The story is quite entertaining, and the gameplay and graphics are almost impeccable. I haven't noticed any of the issues other reviewers have mentioned, but I have not got that far yet.

I liked that there was no time limit for making the matches, and that one was not allowed to make useless moves--that removes the need for a 'hint' system indicating at potential matches. I like also that the attacks are separate from the gem matching. In other words, it makes the game a lot more interesting that you don't do everything through matching gems. The enemy comments were also quite amusing.

A few negative points, all minor: the explanation of the treasure points is a bit unclear. I initially thought that the treasure points for the loot were calculated through the whole adventure, not from one enemy. A bit of clarity may help there, but it just may be my silliness for not reading it better. Also, the running animation (i.e. when the character is travelling between locations) tends to lag a bit for me, even when the actual stages do not. Finally, some variation in the music, or perhaps a slightly more 'epic-sounding' soundtrack would have been nice, but the music is certainly pleasant as is.

Overall, a great game, and one that I did not expect to play as long as I have been.

Nice,

But, as they said, There are some glitches.
When I surrendered, the game went nuts. I can't get any money, enemies stay on the screen after I finish, They disappear half-way during combat, and NaN is shown instead of almost EVERY number. Still worth my time.

Currently my favourite game by far but . . .

There is a glitch with the midas touch script, in which all of the gold icons become fire icons, but they are a different element, and they return to normal after I make a move. Then after this occurs the game becomes very laggy, unresponsive and ends up crashing. If it wasn't for this problem with the glitch and flash crashing it would be a 10.
