Great!, but one unfortunate shortcoming
I don't have time at the moment to write a full review so I'll just write the one thing that peeved me before I forget and leave you with a 10.
Vick Ace's voice actor was incredible. Fantastic. Unfortunately the other voice actor's couldn't keep themselves on the same level as him. The lack of equal quality recording equipment between the cast detracted from the experience - it seemed as if Vick Aces' voice actor was the only one with a setup capable of delivering a performance worthy of the animation. The worst, unfortunately, by far had to be Gigi's voice actress - the background noise of the microphone was the first thing I noticed about her voice acting. Having to hear that made the initial back-and-forth conversation between Gigi and Vick in the beginning next to unbearable.
That being said? Fantastic flash. It was interesting right up until the end and I feel it kept true to the noir theme. Very well done.
Very nice cartoon
It's been so long since someone's made an actual film noir tribute. Of course, people rarely use noir in actual movies anymore anyway. The best thing about this was the animation. It was so awesome to see every character being outlined in a different color to distinguish their personality. Hey, if I met a girl in red that hot, I would do whatever she said too. It makes me wonder if the reward she talked to him about was something dirty...
The voice acting was flawless in this and everyone had such a great personality. This cartoon doesn't waste its time being elaborate because it doesn't need to. While the ending is a tad unsatisfying, definitley worth watching. It's great you achieved such success on this website the first year you submitted flash. The main character's probably the best.
Wonderful
Great voice acting, and beautiful style and animation. That being said, the story left a lot to be desired, but there is only so much you can do for a 3 minute flash animation. I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more if it ended with two gun shots instead of one. ;)
real nice
I don't normally like "noire" themed cartoons but I thought you did a nice job with this. Even with some corny dialogue it wasn't over the top and it had a realistic/stylized feel to it. I'm playing L.A. Noire currently and I could see the similarities right from the beginning with the case introduction. The colors were a nice touch also.
