Reviews for "Jacqueline and the Spawn"

Better than I thought it would be!

The offbeat humor definitely took me by surprise, and I definitely see the potential as a series. the voice work was nice and clean, and the animation was smooth. I look forward to seeing more in the future

I like it!

The art's great, the animation's even better, and the humor is surprisingly tasteful. I just have one issue... and that's the voice acting. It feels fake, and insincere. It's just not really the best talent of the person providing the voices. But, I'm not sure how to critique it over this review, so I can only suggest PMing me if you'd like to talk about specifics.
Overall, I really enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to future installments. Good work!

I like.

Good start to a series. Solid animation throughout and competant voice acting as well. Obsurd non-sequitor humor doesn't always hit me as funny, but this did a number of times. I'd say to work a bit on the main character's voice a bit. IMO it sounds like you're just reading the lines with enthusiasm, rather than acting. This flash oddly enough reminds me of Blockhead (I'm sure you've seen it here. If not, watch it now.) I'll be taking a look at your other series now.

High hopes for the future

While Neophyte-Ronin is far to busy crushing on you, I shall leave an actual review.

To be honest, it feels like someone took generic anime themes, mashed them in a blender with Invader Zim, and threw in a pinch of Le Ego Rapatwa.

The punchlines seem forced and depend almost entirely on the zoomed in facial reactions to get chuckles, this is fine of course, in moderation.

Despite all this, here is a shiny 7, because while it lacks in humor, it makes up for in the sheer fact that you can take this storyline so far. IMO demons in anime feel overdone to me, but I won't knock points for that.

To defend my lover Oney from Ronin, he needs not the intricate storyline because the humor is at a high enough degree that a story would get in the way, but in flashes like this, where the humor falls short, an in-depth story is heavily needed.

-_- it looks like you were tyring to make a meme

i admit...the idea is intresting, but Jacqueline is unrealistic and random. Shes unpredictable, and in a way, shows poor character development.
Actually when i was watching this i saw Billy (from the grim adventures) and that girl from Martha Speaks....
Just fix the story and tweak the characters and you have your self a good story.
