Reviews for "Final Fantasy 3: Narshe (2:47)"

Oww

This one has a lot I could tell you about, even though it´s only guitar and I have never played or heard anything from Final Fantasy at all.

I really liked the original guitar, which sounds like it´s from a southern beach, played in the sunset.

The background guiar could have an effect that would have made it amazing, if you put it forwards and backwards at times, so it comes in and fades out at times, that would add more excitement into it.

However, there was not a lot of diversity in this song.
If you added more melody than there actually was, had some nice effects like a chorus for the main guitar, just a weak one, and played some ccounermelodies, it could have been a remix, even with only guitar.

This sounds like David Gilmore at some of his more relaxed tracks, really. (That means I like it, duh.)

Do you need to improve the sound quality? it´s actually perfect already.

Great work again WinTang, you keep impressing me!

WinTang responds:

I did add a lot actually, the whole lead second half is mine. It also has effects, and that's where the quality needs to get improved because some of them clash and you can't properly hear what's going on all the time.

I'm not one to turn down a Gilmour-reference, thanks a lot for that.

I might go back to this one day, lots of worthwile things have been said and yours was a good addition - thanks!

ahhh...

very relaxing. I've had it on loop for about 20 minutes. :P Great job, though. The bass part was pretty cool. Ambient as well. Keep up the great work. :D

WinTang responds:

Thanks man, will do!

Ahh good old FF3...

The beginning was weird i didn't knew where you were going with this. After 15 secs or so in the song it got alot better.

I don't have alot to say about this piece as it is not amongst my favourites from this game. You did quite a good remake of it with just a guitar. And yes it would be 10 times better if the recording would be of better quality but i can still enjoy the song.

Nicely done good sir.

WinTang responds:

Thank you! Yeah, I've always loved this tune in the game, I prefer this over Celes' theme any day :)

i like this a lot

it is a real shame about the production value, coz it's a great version of a great tune. i guess people have given u some tips below. i think this deserved to do better tbh. wow, yeh, i really do like this a lot. u should record a cleaner version and get it up. pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez
good job
;ped

WinTang responds:

"i think this deserved to do better tbh."

DAMN FUCKING RIGHT!! haha
Yeah, I wholeheartedly agree. If it wasn't so muffled and all, it would have been awesome :)
I'll definitely look into redoing it in the future. I'll check back later to see what you didn't win with, lol.
Thanks a lot for the review!!

wellllllll

i can actually talk now about thinsg i know. both the game and the guitar. right well, it's final fantasy 6 this is from, though in europe and america it's 3. it's a grat interpretation and you've captured the feel of the piece perfectly. nothings out fo place and it's a nice homage to the track.

but.....

your guitar production isn't upto scratch, the chorus'd lead muddles the mix far too much, theres some great sounds on here, but if im right theres two chorus'd guitars playing and when they both play they really collide, you may want to apply a small flange on one of em with a really slow attack. a couple of notes are too quiet and thres a few that are too loud, which may be just a playing fault rather than an intentional decision. the actual technics of yout playing are spot on, nice hammer ons and picking with some nice subtle delays, roll off some of the reverv though and use the delay to add the space that you're after along with an early reflections programme. I've had loads of problesm when i first started recording guitars via a pc over 6 years ago, what will really help is a DI box or a usb fx pedal, something that can get you as clear a signal before further processing.

it's great stuff though and is a very accurate interpretation of the tune.

4/5

WinTang responds:

Awesome man, this is just the kind of review I was hoping for. If you've been recording guitar into PC for 6 years, you're the most directly accurate help I can wish for :)
I'll experiment along with all you just said man, keep checking me out once in a while!!
