Incredibly Addicting

I played both generals on newgrounds and went to max games to play the third army.
There were a few bugs, but nothing that reduce the experience.
For example, a soldier stayed on the screen even after he died, still attacking but it was if he was a ghost since he wasn't damaging anything in his way and the opposing soldiers were just walking past him.

I agree with Kojiro about that stage where the catapults just decimate your forces whenever you try to bring out forces. But it wasn't impossible. Only time consuming. I see that it was meant to make you think about how to oppose the Romans rather than using brute forcing it.
Also, the Romans are overpowered in terms of balancing. Just like Kojiro said, once the archers are upgraded, it's impossible to be defeated.

The music...got a little tiring. But the sound effects were a nice touch.

I also love the rendering of it all. It made the gameplay so smooth. It was awesome.

Overall. Since I spent two whole days playing this. I'm hooked. I finished it all...but there wasn't any ending?...Or is there a button I was supposed to press in the beginning?

Anyways. good job.
I loved that the creators also took part in the action.

Good, but buggy

I can't really rate this truthfully right now, since I can't play it due to yet another bug. This one happens whenever a general comes out. He doesn't take damage, but all the units flash whenever he should. I have no idea why it does this, but it makes it impossible to play some missions. Good game, but all the bugs that are being reported really hurt it. Please fix them. Or at least tell me what's up with the general thing.

when I'm at the level: the boot, and try to fill up all my army slots (tried to put the healer back in place) it doesn't react; the army slots do all light up except one. and if I try to start it says that not all my army slots are filled. hope you can fix it with this information, or maybe just make it so that you can start the game without having to fill all the army slots.

Could have been great, but...

The idea of the game was cool. The units and upgrades were overall cool. However there were some balance issues that need ironing out. Mainly, the romans are significantly stronger than the barbarians. This was very apparent the moment I made an archer with increased range, and EXTREMELY apparent the moment I made a fire archer with increased range. When you get fire archers with increased range, you win. Game over. Sucks to be the barbarians because they can't do anything about it. At 100% range buff their range is so insanely high and their damage output is very good. I could send like 4 fire archers and wipe out the barbarian's entire army. Also I didn't find much use for the healer, maybe because I just fire archer spammed which is easy mode.

I played the barbarian side and I was starting to enjoy it. It was more challenging than the roman campaign. That is I was enjoying it until I got to the level where the romans constantly bomb you with catapults. They force you to use this skill to nullify it. Problem is though is that you can't tell where fire will rain down. Which means that your units are still going to be hit by it. Also, the ability uses like 70 gold or something ridiculous which is about the same money for a whole unit.

Anyways I quit the game after that. Sorry I'm not going to spend hours trying to inch my way to their fortress while having to spam a skill every 10 seconds.
