Reviews for "Shmusicup"

Hmm..

Creative.
Never saw a game where music affects the mode on how you play.Although a shooter with only a stage - the boss stage - is very repetitive and boring.
But,full version?Another game that got a "Full version" thing?
What the hell is happening this week?

Tzai responds:

Hi Flowoflife, thanks for the feedback! We want to keep surviving as a company to produce more games, therefore having a revenue stream is essential. This lite version is free to play and if players want more content they can try out and buy the full extended version. Do note that the extended and download version has many features such as achievements and leaderboards that are free to play as well. Thanks for your understanding!

exciting game

remind me to the kid time and really interesting when play with musics

Tzai responds:

Hey yangh3, great to know you enjoyed it! Thanks!

A very good music/bullet hell game.

The attack pattern generation works pretty damn good for a simple flash. The in-game graphics are pretty cool and the bosses we could play against were cool. Unfortunately, the generator generated a fairly easy pattern with lots of power-ups from 'Papillon' - The Editors. It got me into Overdrive Mode and even then it was easy to dodge the projectiles due to a fairly monotone pattern.
Also, I've put in the Final Boss music of Mushihimesama Futari (the hardest boss in a game so far) at 10.30pm (which is fairly late for me, you could say I'm a pussy) and still managed to survive without too much damage.
What I suggest is that you make a scale of how difficult the generator should make the pattern. This was clearly missing in the lite-version (haven't played extended yet, but I'm fairly sure it won't be there either).
Still, this is already a good start. It might be too early to judge because this game is still in development. Keep refining this jewel.

Tzai responds:

Hi alphabetabiatch1, good to know that you enjoyed it! The difficulty level is due to balancing of the game to cater for players with different skill ranges. In later stages the bosses are harder, they fire more bullets and crazier patterns when given an intense track. Thanks for the feedback!

An unrefined diamond

One of the best music games on Newgrounds, but I was expecting bosses to be more synched with music. Stages with normal enemies that spawn with music would also be super. I would recommend you guys to try Beat Hazzard, another shump that uses music as basics for levels.

Tzai responds:

Hi TuppuP, great to hear that you like it! The syncing is partly due to balancing of the game to cater for a bigger audience. The music syncs a lot better in later stages where the bosses are harder. They fire more bullets and crazier patterns when given an intense track. Thanks for your suggestions as well!

Is it a good idea to play the songs...

Russian roulette?
Made of fire?
or any song that was included in a good game?

Tzai responds:

Thanks for playing, beardkiller!
