Reviews for "Math & Magic"

THIS GAME IS A SHIT!

If you like math, and I mean "Love" Math. Not in the "I think numbers are cool" kind of way, but more in the "I haven't used my calculator in years..." kind of way, then this is the game for you. ;P I have to say that the tying together of basic number management with an RPG shell is both novel and enjoyable. ^.^

I do think that a tool tip telling you what abilities did would have improved the experience wading in. I understand the idea that this is supposed to be an "Old School" RPG with a high level of challenge, but challenge should come from the game, and not the game system. Intentionally handicapping someone's ability to interact with a game is a backwards way of improving the difficulty. (I don't mean that as an insult, just as feedback. ;P)

Overall it's unique, fun, and I'd love to see the evolution of this idea.

???

what the name of music when fight with dragon?

Kori-san responds:

It is simply called "dragon" and can be heard on my Myspace page (username: kritterpann).
Sorry for the late answer, it's been a while since I last came here.

excellent game

Very fun, very intelligent, addicting.

So far I've got 2 of the endings and going for the 3rd and other goodies.

Some things to add for a sequel or if you go for multiplatform:
-Needs more music: Most time spent is in the battle window, each themed dungeon should get it's own battle window music.
-In game calculator.
-Port this game to phone, xbox, etc

Kori-san responds:

Congratulations for having beaten the game twice already, I hope you'll enjoy the Bonus section when you unlock it. ;)

I don't plan on doing a sequel for the time being, after 8 months working on this one I want to work on something else, I have (way too) many other projects...
About going multiplatform, I only know some basic ActionScript 2 for now; one day maybe I'll learn how to make games for other platforms...

I have a bad tendency to start projects way too big for me and never finish them, that's why I'm glad I finished this one; to do so I had have to reduce the size of my project, that's why there's only 1 battle theme though I wanted to do one for each area in the first place.

Thanks for your review and your suggestions, have fun!
