Well... I've got 3 points.
1: Minecraft Multiplayer is NOT stupid. The lag may be a bit much at times, but that's the MOST you can say.
2: You deserved it for being a thief. Would YOU like your diamonds stolen?
And 3: It WAS funny, which is why I'm giving it a 5.

the plot would be kinda funny if it was easier to follow, and the animation is a little cruddy... plus, why did he spawn with a DIAMOND PICKAXE?!?!?
I'd do it differently.
The rules are there for a reason. To be followed. Sure, I'd like diamonds, and sure, I haven't seen a single diamond myself in my four days of playing Minecraft Beta (and counting). But the other players would like diamonds, too. If you want diamonds they have, you can try to work out a deal with them, such as giving them, say, 30 redstone dust in exchange for the diamond.
In short, rules are meant to be followed. They don't put them on signs for the heck of it!
