Reviews for "Clarence's Big Chance"

Awesome

Just lovely old fashioned platforming fun. Nothing new or original, but loads of fun, with nice graphics. Controls were good, which is often a weak point for flash platformers.

I saw some complaints about the length in other reviews, but I really disagree with those. If a game is this good it's a good thing that it's not done in 15 minutes.

THIS GAME IS THE BOMB

And by "the bomb", I mean it is a really fun game, not some kind of explosive. That would be silly and probably inaccurate.

What ISN'T in this game?

A rich RPG world, beautiful pixel graphics, hilarious conversations, entertaining platforming, lots of items to collect, quests to complete, secrets to find, achievements to achieve, and several ending sequences depending on your performance.

If you are looking for SEVERAL HOURS of great fun, this is the game.

Long, but rad.

It was a really cool game, I laughed a bit. But in the long run (Pun intended) it was really fecking long. If the game was a bit shorter I'd probly have finished it, anyways, great game. :)

Pseudolonewolf responds:

Why does everyone want to finish every game they play in a few minutes?

I designed this one as something you could keep coming back to in order to finish it over several sessions, like most console games, because I was under the impression that providing more hours of entertainment would be more appreciated than providing a game that only entertained for a few minutes.

I suppose the Flash Game audience is just used to ultra-quick games, though... Sigh. At least it means I might have to do less work for future games.

very fun

very fun game

Great game, until i got glitched.

Soo in world 2 if you go through the sewers first and then try too work your way backwards you can get permanently stuck in the suburbs. Since there's an area that you need the car to break those blocks on and you haven't broken them yet. Furthermore you can't go back without breaking the blocks due too that one way passable floor. Great game, hope you fix this so I can finish it.

Pseudolonewolf responds:

It is possible to get around the crumbly blocks. I don't know which ones you're stuck at, but there are some which are at the left edge of the screen just left of the park; you can get around these using the door beside them.
There are others, on a screen with three policemen and two houses above. You can actually jump up through the floor to get to the houses (by jumping on a lamp post to get high enough), then you can get past the next set of blocks by using lamp posts again.
The last set of crumbly blocks can be bypassed by jumping up through a wall/hedge thing below them, which is one way.
